Met Deep is helaas een einde gekomen aan een serie waar ik tegen verwachting in heel erg van heb genoten. Ik heb de super leuke en knappe leden van Stage Dive leren kennen en hun dierbaren. Daarnaast had ik het genoegen om kennis te maken met vier hilarische dames, die gelukkig stevig in hun schoenen staan en vol met oneliners zitten. Met elk verhaal slaagde Kylie Scott er ook in om verhalen die van tevoren heel erg voorspelbaar leken te zijn, leuke plotveranderingen mee te geven. Hierdoor kreeg ik steeds iets nieuws voorgeschoteld en werd ik met het lezen van elk boek steeds enthousiaster. Ik vind het dan ook heel jammer dat ik afscheid moet nemen... Als ik het echter goed op de website heb gelezen, komt er wel een min of meer vervolg. Dus nog even afwachten en duimen :D
Ik moet wel bekennen dat Deep me toch een beetje teleurstelde. Ik had iets.. anders en uniekers verwacht. Dat neemt niet weg dat ik het nog steeds een heel leuk verhaal vond om te lezen, maar het wijkt helaas minder af van het gebruikelijke dan ik dacht dat het zou doen. Zeker als ik Deep met de vorige drie boeken vergelijk. Ik werd deze keer helaas iets minder aangenaam verrast met onverwachte plotwendingen. Ze waren aan de voorspelbare kant en niet de aparte, 'meen je dit nou'-gebeurtenissen die ik toch wel van Kylie Scott ben gaan verwachten...
Daarnaast kon ik ook niet echt hoogte krijgen van Ben. Bij Jim, Mal en David had ik maar een paar bladzijdes nodig om ze in mijn hart te sluiten. Bij Ben echter, lukte dit totaal niet. Zelfs nu heb ik nog niet echt het idee dat ik hem heb leren kennen. Je komt ook niet veel over hem te weten en zelf is hij ook niet de grootste verteller. Ha, achteraf gezien past de titel dan ook uitstekend bij hem. Hij is zekersteweten Deep en laat beslist niet snel het achterste van zijn tong zien!
Hierdoor begon ik me bijna vanzelf meer op Lizzy te focussen en naarmate het verhaal vorderde had ik meer en meer met haar te doen. Ongepland zwanger zijn op zo'n jonge leeftijd. Ik weet niet of ik het ook zo kalm zou hebben opgenomen. Denk toch dat er iets meer paniekaanvallen bij te pas waren gekomen ;) Dus kudos voor haar! Gelukkig is ze niet een van die vrouwen die zich zomaar bij zaken neer legt, maar voor zichzelf opkomt en voor "Bean" :D

Conclusie
Deep is een mooi einde van een super leuke serie. Ik had toch wel iets meer van dit verhaal verwacht, zeker wat betreft uniekheid. Daarnaast was het jammer dat we niet meer inzicht konen krijgen in Ben, maar Lizzy was meer dan genoeg vrouw om dit boek te dragen. Ik kan Deep en Stage Dive met harte aanraden voor iedereen die van rock & roll, een goed romantisch verhaal en veel lachen houdt!

Nothing like a raunchy chick lit romp in between other reads!
This was a fun series with lots of hunky men, passion and juicy bits,
all pressed into the nice safe pages of a book. Ha!

Kylie Scott rocked my reading world with Deep.
The thing when I read a final book in a series it always a love/hate moment. The Stage Dive series has captivated me in many ways from first book to last. Ben and Lizzy’s story is one that is very close to home. Making Deep a very emotional read for me. Also making Deep my favorite book of the Stage Dive Series
Ben is the mystery of the band. The quiet one. Hes a go with the flow, never committing to anything but music kind of guy. Bens as sexy as the bass he plays. That flippin hair and beard just get to a girl. He’s an asshat, living his Rock and Roll fantasy, not knowing a damn good thing when he’s had it right in front of him.
Lizzy flippin rocks! Lizzy went all in when in came to Ben. She knew what she was getting herself into. Always hoping, trying not to hurt, needing and wanting. A strong woman who who fell for the bad boy rockstar. Every woman has something that makes her weak in the knees. Hers is Ben!
Ben and Lizzy’s story takes snark and banter to a new best. The way these two go at each other made me both laugh and want to cry. An emotional and funny story, fill with sexual tension, out of control feelings and trying to make it all work. Add in the Rock and Roll life on the road, you get the best Stage Dive novel of the series. I was hanging on the edge of my seat while Ben and Lizzy dance around their HEA! The Stage Dive series is one I will read again and again.

Deep is the 4th and final installment of the Stage Dive series by Kylie Scott. This book is a stand alone but it is recommended that the books are read in order as the characters get repeated and stories overlap. This novel in particular does a great job in filling in some of the blanks from book 3.
We finally get to Ben, the towering beast of the stage dive crew. Ben meets Livvy, Anne's younger sister during a rehearsal in book 3, and the chemistry is instantaneous. With the help of another Stage Dive wife, she is armed with Ben's number and so begins the story. Now, a few weeks later, she discovers she's pregnant and is on her way to a dinner at her sisters house with other fellow Stage Dive members. Feeling the pressure, she blurts out that she is pregnant and so begins this lovely tale.
I loved this series and this book was a great end to the series. I really enjoyed the fact that she brilliantly bridged the third book and weaved this story into it. It's a fun read and worth the time.

I am sort of disappointed in this book. I didn't feel the connection between Ben and Lizzy like I did the other characters. Dare I say too much steam and not enough getting to know the characters? We've had mentions of Ben in each of the previous novels so I was anxious to get to know his story but after reading, I still feel like he is a mystery. He's kind of mentally absent throughout the story until his redeeming moment at the end. There are plenty of appearances from the other Stage Dive members and a surprise for fans of Jimmy and Lena. Overall, I would highly recommend the series as it is pretty hilarious and not at all cheesy like some romance novels can be.
