Something about feeling trapped in a situation always gets to me. I think is the helplessness and naivety of the victim that gets my blood pumping. Kiersten Modglin creates that tension here. Unfortunately, I didn't find the ending to be as shockingly twisty as most of her books, but I still enjoyed the book very much.

Serviceable enough thriller if you’re okay with just watching the events you know are happening unfold.
What took this down from a three to a two star was that there were a glaring amount of plot holes.
Personally I also didn’t connect to this bare bones writing style, and the protagonist is not a good person so I found it hard to sympathize entirely with his situation. Very strange social expectations here.
