I despised the first book. This one wasn’t much better.

3.5 Predictable, but sweet. Even with no surprises, I enjoyed the story.

I really loved "[b:Water for Elephants|43641|Water for Elephants|Sara Gruen|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1170161179s/43641.jpg|3441236]," so I was excited to read another novel by Sara Gruen. This one was ok. Kind of a basic plot, family drama...nothing too unexpected. A fast read, enjoyable enough, but nothing spectacular.

Fanciful and a little bit ridiculous but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just a light and ridiculous read but actually fairly well written. Good for a horse crazy person and an easy read.

Plot was good, but the inaccuracies in the equestrian details kind of derailed it for me. If you don’t know anything about horses, it’s a good enjoyable quick read

5 stars for storyline but 3 for language, references to immorality, and other wrong things that were presented as good or acceptable.

I picked this up one night last week and read 100 pages before I even knew what happened. It really pulls you in immediately! Love that she's perfectly neurotic - self-aware, but can't help herself. The progression of the characters is wonderful and felt really true (and like it was coming from a place Gruen knows really well). Loved it!

More Nicholas Sparks than Sara Gruen. Definitely not my favorite Sara Gruen novel, but it was still entertaining in a fluff sort of way.
