I am absolutely blown away with the importance of this authors words. Ms. Cherry plays my emotions like a professional...the push the pull, the love and hate, the deep emotions that are brought through in letters, questions, texts and one word statements..BLOW. MY. MIND. And remind me why I read. Why I trust my favorite authors to shred me to pieces in the best of ways and trust that they will soothe and comfort the soul as they continue. Landon and Shay owned me throughout this story and I want nothing more then to dive back into their hauntingly darkened hearts and follow their journey. I can’t recommend this book enough. It’s special, in a way that will remain with you long after. Seriously, bravo. I wish I had better words to convey my OMGOMGOMG feelings but these will have to do.

Such a well written book. I usually can't stand too much angst and this book has it in spades, but Landon and Shay are so complex, so well fleshed-out, so round... Hate-to-love relationships are my weak spot and this was like a mature version of The Duff. Landon was deep, Shay was bright and strong... Onto book 2!
Sexy times were a bit scarce, though. After all the drama, we deserved more.

(4.5.... maybe idk i'm feeling a lot of feelings rn)

Thank you Brittainy for this incredible story! This book deserves more than a 5⭐️ rating! It was a page turner and deals with realistic issues/topics. We were introduced to Landon and Shay a little bit in Eleanor and Grey but this is their intense love story. Shay is the “perfect” happy girl in everyone else’s eyes, who loves theater and hates Landon. Landon is the rich, popular senior, who is struggling with feeling loved because he doesn’t feel it from anyone around it. Landon and Shay are absolutely polar opposites to each other, but they really just work together. Shay brings out the better in Landon. Through out the book you see how much Landon and Shay can be there for each and how they turn that hate into something different.
