Great for reading with the kids!

Every story whispers His name, indeed. What a beautiful way to show children that the plan to conquer death and sadness was part of the arc all along. Jesus was there through every bit of it, with God since before creation, loving us.

I fully believe that every adult should read a children’s Bible at some point, just to remind themselves of how they are supposed to be. “Let the little children come to me.”

And the illustrations are beautiful. I want to frame them all.

Speedy summary: The bible as children's stories, weaving Jesus throughout. Thoughts: C.S. Lewis says "A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest." Though for children, this bible tells the stories beautifully and shows Jesus throughout. Your heart will be full when you read this! Everyone should have it!

The best children's books are those that adults also delight to read. This is the most beautiful, delightful presentation of the metanarrative of Scripture that I have read. Every story points to Jesus and the Gospel.

I wiped tears away more than once while reading this book, and I cannot wait to share it with both the children in my life and the adults who need the refreshing reminder of the simplicity of childlike faith.

More of a summary of Biblical stories, with a theme than an actual Bible, and misses great big areas, it is interesting in what gets missed out on against what gets left in. It is though a good introduction to understanding the Bible as a single story and who it is actually all about. A good book for parents to read to their children, and have conversations about what they have read.

What a captivating way to introduce children to the Bible in paraphrasing language that brings them into the story. SO MUCH of scripture is missing, but the stories chosen for this book are ones that paint the story of Jesus and focus on his family line and life.

This will be a sweet way to continue teaching my son about Jesus and the Bible through toddlerhood.

i mean i guess its a good intro even for me but the way it glosses over a lot of things just. lmfao to me

I am absolutely in love with the JSB. I try to find used copies to buy and gift to unsuspecting friends or mama's to be, because it is a perfect addition to a child's home library.

Engaging and sweet, age-appropriate illustrations, a Biblically sound over-arching theme as well as accuracy in the major stories. Not entirely inclusive, but that's rather difficult to do for the target market audience here, and I appreciated the entire book.

What's more, Sally Llyod-Jones has free Lent and Advent devotions you can do with your child utilizing the JSB. This isn't an advertisement, I just love this resource that much!

My children (11, 7, 2) all look forward to listening to a story out of the JSB over breakfast.

This Bible is SO good at directing the focus of every story on Jesus and the big picture of salvation. A great ministry tool to reach parents and kids alike.
