This was a great book. I enjoyed reading each of the characters perspectives. I think Ronnie was my favorite I loved how her personality came thru in the text. I listened to this on audio couldn’t wait to finish it to hear who did it. Overall a great debut for Haley Scrivenor.

I think Sophie Loughran did an amazing job with the narration on each of the characters also!

The only think that kept me from giving it a 5 star was that it was more of a slow building mystery and a few of the characters I felt like could have been more developed for dramatics to add extra shockwaves.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC for my honest review.

Breathtaking. Not sure if it's just because I had this book as a palate-cleanser for some really mediocre crime novels, but Dirt Town bowled me over. It grabbed my heart from the first page and still hasn't let it go. Proof, if it were needed, of how inspiring this genre can be.

I expected more from this. The middle was too long.

Let me preface this by saying that this book is not bad. The prose of it is actually quite good, and that is probably what I enjoyed most. However, to me, this book was incredibly slow paced with a lot of things going on that had nothing to do with the actual plot of the disappearance. Because of this, it definitely took me longer to read than an average book of this length. However, I love the exploration of childhood and love and some real feelings and issues (such as how Lewis feels about his brother). Overall, a very well-written book, but it definitely could’ve done with some twists and turns or a more gripping ending.
