Legends & Lattes mixed with Coffee Talk in a modern setting. A cosy novella about ex-guard Gwen, a drider who sets up her own café.

- If you like cosy coffee shop stories, you can't go wrong with this one. Heartwarming, low stakes and chilled. I really enjoyed the characters. However, I think the author could have expanded this into a lover book and gone more indepth into some of the situations and the brevity of a novella meant they felt a little skipped over sometimes.

- Who doesn't like a fantasy and queer setting. Driders, minotaurs, moth people galore and being queer is completely normalized. Perfect for light LGBT+ representation.

A short and light but cosy and fuzzy novella. Perfect for those who enjoy modern coffee shop AUs with a fantasy twist.

A drider (spider-centaur creature) retires from essentially the police force to open a cafe in this very short novella.

Thoughts:
- very quick to jump into the "action"
- cute and quirky main character
- shallow character development due to the length of the book
- too many characters; it feels crowded with such little story
- not too bad if you go in knowing the story is less than 100 pages and there isn't room for anything fantastic

This was hyped up and highly recommended to me, but was, unfortunately, pretty mediocre.

I try to avoid comparing one book to another, because I want to believe every author has worked hard to tell their own story, but it must be said that this is the best miniature version of Legends & Lattes with enough distinct differences to make this a very heartwarming hour read for a cozy evening.

I will now be thrusting my money at anyone who will listen to my begging for more cozy fantasy stories that put cool races in modern/domestic settings. Also orcs. I just need more orcs in my life. Soft-hearted Marin was a too much for my soft heart.

I will be adopting literally every character in this book. They are now all part of the little family in my head. Mostly Jax and Marin though.

This was a generally sweet story with plenty of cozy fantasy vibes. The found family dynamic was pretty good, and this is a wonderful short read if you're looking for more cozy fantasy works.

This was a very sweet little story and was a pleasant read over the course of a car journey.
