Surprisingly lighthearted for an arranged Mafia romance. A bit predictable at times but that's what makes for a nice, quick read. They're too many ultra dark romances out there - this is not one. Enjoy.

I could also see it as an introductory dark romance book as it doesn't really dwell much on explicit themes and even the smut is perfect for readers who aren't as inclined to it like an avid smut reader.

Noemi has been mute since the accident that claimed her mother's life. She enters into an arranged marriage with Connor as part of an agreement between Irish and Italian mafias. Connor doesn't want the marriage but agrees since he thinks a mute bride will suit him and not interfere with his life. Noemi is a witness to murder and hopes Connor can keep her safe.
I really enjoyed this story. Connor and Noemi match each other well and I liked how they gradually got to know each other. The murder keeps the tension high as Noemi tries to navigate the results.
