Good reminders. Some of them near the end just became repeats (just worded differently) of ones before, which got to be repetitive. But overall, a good read with lots of good little tidbits for life.

Good food for thought.

Helpful. Sometimes it only takes a simple reminder on how to lead a better life without the unnecessary philosophical stuff.

The timing — I pulled out this book after my flight got delayed to the point I was going to miss my connection (ended up spending the night at the airport). The weekend I had before was so great though, I didn’t let the end ruin the journey. In theory, these are things I think we all know but it can be hard to remember in the heat of the moment. This book did a great job of breaking this into smaller lessons and food for thought. He shared a lot of personal stories and wrote in an easy to comprehend, conversational style. It is so important to live in the present and it is so easy to be looking ahead or at the past. There is a thread of religion throughout, and I don’t know how I feel about it, but it did not detract from the main message for me — I just glossed over that part a bit more. It isn’t a book I will have absorbed everything from on this first run through but it is easy enough where I can put it down and open it to any random page and still feel calmer no matter which chapter im on.

I still think about some of the mental exercises in this book, for instance imagining a cranky person getting up in your face as a crying baby or toddler. It's a quick read with lots of short tips for staying calm and avoiding stress.

Simple, anecdotal book on how to live a more carefree life (literally stop sweating over small, miniscule things). Most of the ideas presented (there are 100) are common sense or just intuitive thinking. I was able to apply this book to several aspects of my life and make connections across previous self-help quotes I've heard and try to think about (examples: fair does not mean equal & it's okay to have days giving some and not your all).

I'm re-reading this one for perhaps the 3rd time. I last read it in my 20's and think I'll get even more from it now, as I'm about to hit 40.
