It took me so long to get into this book for no reason whatsoever, but once I forced myself to pick it up again, I couldn’t put it down! This masterpiece shocked me into wanting to read more, but being very disappointed when I realised I still did not own the rest of the series!

You know, when I said I was only reading Shatter Me for Warner, I didn’t think I actually meant it. That was until I was struggling to get through the first half of this book but flew through the last part of it. Being honest, the plot was predictable; Kent trying to hold Juliette back (and being incredibly moody in the process). I have to respect him though. Just because I like Warner more doesn’t mean I hate Kent and all that. No, I think he genuinely cares for Juliette and wants her to be safe and happy. Also Kenji was awesome in this sequel: being very humorous while also giving Juliette a reality check was exactly what I needed. Aaron Warner though, I knew I’d fall for you, but not as much as I have. Did his character development/relationship with Juliette seem a little fast and insta love like…yes…..but I’m letting it slide for now

To me, the most important points of a story are 1) the writing and 2) the characters. Based on the other reviews of this series, I thought for sure that the writing would do me in but I was wrong. Mafi's style is unique and flows very naturally throughout the book but it was Juliette that drove me crazy. In Shatter Me, I gave her annoying behavior some leeway because hey, she was locked up in an asylum for 264 days, but in this book I was expecting much more from her. Instead, we get an obnoxious, love obsessed, whiny child who doesn't even deserve her powers. And if I can't stand her, how am I supposed to believe that not one, but two, ridiculously gorgeous guys are pining away for her. Ugh. If it wasn't for Kenji putting her in her place every time she opened her mouth I don't think I would have been able to finish this book.

I dunno man. I just don't see the Warner love yet. His absolute obsession with Juliette gives me the ick. It just comes across as really creepy.
I get he's misunderstood and was raised a certain way and, yeah, he takes care of puppies, but I'm just not feeling his character. I'm not sold yet.

Juliette was frustrating throughout the book with leading both men on and being unable to make up her mind.

I bet Kenji is exhausted because that man carried this whole book 💪
