I don't normally like books that don't involve some aspect of magic and paranormal creatures...and this one I only picked up because it was for my year 9 class way back. Started reading the first page like everyone else in he class, by the time they'd finished the first I was done with all seven :)
I must say: WOW. The whole series is excellent! It is a war book yes, [and boy do I dislike war:] but it's based on teenagers and it's action-packed and exciting and just really well written :) Good books, even if you're not into that kinda stuff like me :)

Wow. And not a good wow. All I can think of is "that was not for me at all!" It was a not great Australian version of RED DAWN (1984 US movie.).

Perhaps if I were younger, or Australian, I would have like it better. Writing seemed ok. I didn't love, or hate, any of the characters. I skimmed quite a few pages.
