I watched the movie at the same pace I was reading the book. First reading, then watching. It's astonishingly well adapted, even a lot of the book dialogues featured in the film... perhaps that's why the people who didn't read the book think the movie and especially the screenplay is crap.
I find the idea of the invasion and the kids fighting to get their families back very interesting, but disturbing. I like Ellie's voice, it's strong, although she shows also the expected weaknesses and doubts given the moment they're living and even loses the control at some point. I like Homer's awakening in a military strategist or Fiona showing she's stronger than just a town chick (I LOL with the smashed window and the snake incident xD).
I'm looking for the rest of the books. The characters are interesting and the situation intrigues me. I want to know what happens next.
