The first few issues were a bit slow, and Hulkling and Wiccan aren't really my faves so I wasn't sure if I was going to like this as much as everyone else. But the last few issues really picked up! Loved Noh-Varr's entrance-fight sequence and Kate's Kree bow.

I'm so excited I FINALLY got to read the beginning of the 2nd run of the Young Avengers. This is by far my favorite comic series, even of I hadn't been able to get a hold of the first book until just today. I adore not only the storyline, but the gorgeous artwork too -- the combination just makes the comic. There's also the great little fact that only one or two of the characters in the book are straight. (So if you're looking for a queer read that isn't all angsty, look no further.) All in all, one of my favourite books, and I'm really looking forward to getting my own copy of this in a few months.
Full disclosure, I read this entirely to see America Chavez and I wasn't disappointed. (Tumblr has been all for Chavez, and now I see why). Also, I'm always down for dising Loki's character. Otherwise, the plot is entertaining (the parents are the bad guys), but would probably be more interesting for the high school range. (Am I getting old?) Some issues are confusing if you try to read this as a linear storyline, but bare in mind each issue is released individually. Would also probably enjoy this story if I knew more about the characters, but it's readable.

I honestly don't know why it took me so long to get into reading Young Avengers. There's something about teen hero groups that I really love, especially with Teen Titans. While this one is Marvel and not DC, it didn't disappoint. The character of kid Loki is fun to try and keep track of and I have fallen head over heels for Billy and Teddy and want to grab every comic they're in. Can't wait to read more!
