God, idk what's happening, but the start of this book is so weird. I wish there was more action and that interaction about birth control? The topic of contraception was delt with like the biggest taboo. 💀 I don't know, I thought it was weird. (I'm writing this as I'm reading) THAT FUCKING ASSHOLE, WTF??? You don't do that?? Don't get me wrong, I love myself a deranged mmc, but when you lie to your love interest? Na.ah, mr.
Okay, I don't know if this is just me or objective. I hate how she constantly says that "he has all of her" but then again and again and again... Like, I don't get why that had to be mentioned so many times. And the submission in this book feels very... Weird. Not as in "I feel safe with you, so I submit to you", but a "you're my master" type of submission. It just gives me the ick (my opinion, ofc).
What's the deal with Calista's ex, btw? It feels like his character was only there for that one interaction at the coffee shop. 🤷🏽♀️
Okay, now that I'm done, I have three things to say.
1) The ending feels so rushed? I mean, the things that happened in the last 50 pages are basically vomited.
2) I knew it. I knew it. I knew it.
3) Alright, as much as I think this book is mediocre at best, I do think it's kind of cute. Mostly because of Hayden's professions. I find Calista a tiny bit annoying, but eh, it's fine.

First of all, before I get into this review I have to say that I LOVE dark romance, I’ve read various troupe and aspects of dark romance. So this genre isn’t something I’m against as a whole. There are many books that I enjoyed reading, most of them have events or behavior that I would never condone or want in reality but since it’s fiction I’m able to enjoy it still.
BUT this book just pisses me off
First of all there is little to almost no character development in the MMC, I HATED whenever tampering with birth control is used in books as if it’s sooo romantic or not a big deal. I was curious how things would go down after the FMC learns what he did but it’s never mentioned, he never tells her that. I don’t like how easily she forgive him, but if you view the whole situation from a psychological perspective, it really highlights how truly unhealthy and toxic their relationship is. And again I have read books were the relationship is def not traditional or conventional or fully healthy but this just is too much for me

Editors need to do better with proofreading. The end of this book is littered with mistakes making it hard to read and enjoy. A simple grammarly run through would have caught them.
