Listen… I have been waiting to get my hands on this book, and when my library finally came through, I was hyped. 😆 Book one? It delivered. Twists, suspense, dark romance vibes—it had me hooked. And that cliffhanger? Yeah, you’ll be grabbing book two immediately.

And that’s where things take a nose dive. 🚨

Book two felt rushed, messy, and frustrating. The sharp, clever MMC? Suddenly clueless when the FMC hides in the most obvious place imaginable. 🤦‍♀️ And don’t even get me started on the FMC—she went from strong to so naive, like she regressed entirely.

I wanted to love this duology, but book two made it real hard. 😩

Enjoyed the duet. This book had a pregnancy trope in it, just fyi. There was some drama/suspense as well as a tiny bit of banter as well. I am interested in reading more from this author!

I didn’t even finish this book before I had to mention how tired I was of reading the words “you’re mine”—it was constant. I ended up finishing it in one sitting, and honestly, I wasn’t impressed. The entire story felt dull, and I couldn’t even bring myself to root for the romance. The climax was a complete letdown—predictable and rushed—and everything seemed to happen way too quickly. On top of that, the FMC displayed behavior that felt completely out of character, with no buildup to justify the shift. And don’t even get me started on the pregnancy trope at the end—I absolutely hate that in books, and it did nothing to redeem the story for me. Overall, I’d rate this a 2.75 out of 5.
