Now You’re Mine by Morgan Bridges was an okay read for me, simple, quick, and a decent palate cleanser between heavier books. While it’s not my typical genre or style, I appreciated its straightforward pacing and easy-to-follow writing.
The plot was predictable, with no major surprises, and the pacing suited a fast read. However, I found myself wanting more depth and development. The story primarily focused on Hayden’s obsessive love for Calista and her equally repetitive mistrust of him. Their dynamic boiled down to Hayden saying, “I need you, you’re mine,” and Calista responding with, “I don’t trust you, I won’t forgive you, but I can’t resist you.” This back-and-forth became frustrating and left little room for meaningful character growth or plot advancement.
I preferred Hayden’s POV over Calista’s, though his constant declarations of devotion became grating. Calista, on the other hand, could have been more engaging if she had shown a playful or sarcastic side to balance the heavy tension between them. Unfortunately, the story didn’t deliver much beyond the sexual tension, which was expected based on the content warnings but still left me hoping for more complexity.
The writing style was simple and accessible, but the lack of resonance with the characters and themes made it hard to connect with the story. While this book might appeal to readers looking for a tension-filled, steam-heavy romance, it didn’t improve much from the first book for me.
I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re looking for a plot-heavy or character-driven story. This is more about chemistry and physical tension, and while that works for some, it wasn’t quite what I was hoping for.

this was the worst, most pathetic, God-awful attempt at a dark romance. The writing? Terrible. I had secondhand embarrassment the entire time. I got the ick every other page. Only giving it .25 stars because the smut scenes were the only decent writing in the entire book.

Again… I finished it within 24 hours. Multiple places where the MMC’s name was spelled wrong, so many plot holes, and it was over-all incredibly cringe… it kept me engaged I guess at parts but it’s giving indie-film low budget temu 50 shades almost
