I have a feeling this series is going to suffer a bit from the same thing as A Series of Unfortunate Events - the number of books is dictated by a concept, not the plot, and therefore each book is going to have to follow a similar plot. Arthur needs to get a key from a day of the week, he struggles but eventually gets it.
But although this book follows that structure, it was still enjoyable. It can be nice to have a set of expectations going in that are then met. There was enough that was novel and suspenseful and the writing let me run through it quite quickly. I read it as an ebook so hard to compare length to the first, but it felt shorter and it was readable and easy to run through.
Still hits that middle-grade feel, but kept me engaged and interested.
