Record scratch: on reflection this is a 3.75 rounded up !! Super gripping start to the book and it was really interesting that you didnt know which side to take re: the evident breakup.

The drama was really fun and i loved Addie, Deb, Dylan and Kevin! But Marcus was INSUFFERABLE honestly does he ever have a night off my god. Literally one of my least favourite characters ever, and despite being very imporant to the plot, is the reason i cant give it a FULL 4

This is...not a romantic book. Addi and Dylan should absolutely not be together. Marcus definitely hurt their relationship sure but my God they have a lot of issues on their own. I might even make the argument they shouldn't have been together at all? We're told over and over how much they love each other and forever or whatever but neither of their actions back that up. This would be better suited as a "hey one time I thought I was in love, but now I know it wasnt that at all" story. Gave 2 stars because at the climax of the story, finally revealing their breakup story I was utterly hooked and audibly gasped in my cubicle haha

This was nowhere near as nice as The Flatshare or The Switch. I didn't really enjoy it, I didn't really like the main characters and the back and forth between the present and the past was confusing, because in the beginning you have absolutely no clue what's going on or who's who. The writing was still fine and there were still some parts I enjoyed, but overall... not one of her best novels, unfortunately.

It was interesting at first. But as the chapter progresses, it felt a bit draggy.

My 2nd book by this author and just as enjoyable as the first. Imagine being forced to endure a long-distance drive with your ex and his best friend who you hate and he hates you? Dylan and Addie didn't end on good terms and there's a lot of history to sort through over the course of the journey. The author continues the format of having the narrators tell their own side of the story and again it works really well. Going back and forth between then and now also works for me as I love dual timeline stories. Another 5* fluffy read.
