I thought this was an interesting horror comedy, a haunting set in a fake IKEA. Also, the book is made as a fake catalogue, how cool!

I liked the characters, but I feel like it could have been more! There’s definitely some characterization of some of the BIPOC characters that felt flat to me.

I also was not scared a lot, it was more creepy for me than anything, but I do get the appeal for others. I’d still recommend it to horror fans, and I’m interested in what else the author has been doing.

This was pretty disappointing from Hendrix. The writing was dull, and the characters felt like empty stereotypes. The only thing that saved it from a true 2 ⭐️ review was the attention to detail from the artists and designers working on this book that made it feel like a catalogue, that showed every item number featuring 666 (and notably one that didn’t? I’ve got theories…), that really made the ending something unique.

If you walk into this book, come for the concept, buy into the concept, just don’t expect to be wowed by any of the characters.

Bit of a damp squid of an ending if I’m honest but give Grady Hendrix his flowers for innovative physical book design that is relevant to and legitimately enhanced the experience of the story

“Everything always comes down to those two choices: stay down or stand up.”

I listened to this book on audible and honestly I think I enjoyed it more listening to it than if I read it.

I loved the journey the main character went through and how it changed her. The horror elements were very well done and I loved the idea behind this book.

There’s always something creepy about seeing places that are usually so full be empty and dark.

I love how in the end, Amy is offered the one thing she wanted and turned it down. It shows how she changed. Also love how Basil and her both came back at the end to try and free their lost coworkers
