Sarah J. Maas weaves a tale so enchanting, you might forget to come up for air. Just be warned: reading this book may result in sudden outbursts of swooning and a serious case of book hangover. Approach with caution and a healthy dose of humor!
It will seemed drawn out at first, but don’t let that stop you. The writing is amazing, and well thought out. The characters have their own unique personalities and you’ll love them or hate them immediately.

Rhys is great too, and I like enemies to lovers tropes so them together would probably be more interesting. If she chooses him won’t the love of this book be for naught? She does everything out of love for Tamlin.

The characters are well-rounded, especially Feyre. There are a couple of plot inaccuracies
Nonetheless, this was one of the best books I've read. I can't wait to read the rest of the series - I hope they're as good as this one!

I went into this book without a clue on what the series was about except that it was popular. I just needed something to get me out of my reading slump and this book was kind of like Beauty and the Beast but fae. Which makes sense because it started off as a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. It has all the same cliches of a girl getting kidnapped and falling for her captor but the storytelling is good with detail. And it was a pain to get through. The real action doesn't start until you're 3/4's of the way through. The suspense was really good and she makes the overall atmosphere very chilling.
I guessed the answer to the riddle as soon as she said it and was so mad that I got it right because it was too obvious.
I'll just say, the only reason I got through this book is because of the audiobook I listened to, without that narration, I think it would've taken me all year to read this book.
