This book is what I hoped to find when I opened the pages of The Da Vinci Code. Fast paced, great historical references. Exactly what I love in a thriller...

Really liked this, until about 20 pages from the end... I may well be missing something, but the grand finale is not there! The writing is good, the characters interesting, and the Dan Brown-esque religio-terrorism plot fun is well handled and not riddled with errors (I'm looking at you, Mr Brown!) but honestly, you need a good ending!

Maybe the next one in the series will pick up where this left off...?

Beware the Kindle edition - if you're even mildly irritated by the odd typo that ebooks seem to attract, this edition will drive you bonkers. There were plenty enough auto-correct style errors to disrupt the rhythm and frankly they spoilt whatever the author might have hoped for this story...

Higher-brow than Dan Brown's later works, this series opener focuses on the possibility that Judas was not a traitor and sacrificed himself for Jesus.
It's chock full of historical info and the characters are an interesting mix. Be warned that the author likes abrupt endings! It is definitely the first book in a series because the last page leaves you dangling off a cliff.
