ive been waiting to read this book since the beginning of the year and ive been so excited to finally read it. for about the first 2/3rds i was interested, but not that into it. i found the plot basic and a bit underwhelming, the characters to be a tad annoying and it seeming predictable. then i read the final bit and it changed my opinion on it. it was finally a full blown page turner, everything i had thought was going to happen flew out the window, and i was left shocked at the plot twist and tense for the rest of it. overall, a perfect end of summer read and a pretty decent bookbook.

And once again, Jessica Goodman has me crying in the club. A solid mystery/thriller that made me miss the simpler days of summer camp and best friends - my camp wasn’t nearly as nice, but the sentiment still stands.
Goodman is so good at creating such complex characters and vivid, achingly familiar settings. I’ve loved every book she’s written and I sincerely hope she continues writing.
