Quite simply, this book is amazing. I don’t have children, but found incredible ideas for things I could do with my nieces and nephews as well as excellent management and business practices. Highly recommend for all parents, not just home educators.

Most of this book was very much meh for me. I did appreciate in part 4 the discussion of mental health and being real about family disfunctions. Otherwise, it was a lot of extremely privileged ideas for upper middle class to wealthy suburbanites.

Finished as an audiobook from the library. Super encouraging and wholesome. Loved it but lost motivation to read it halfway. Will be great to reread favorite sections as needed.

Free yourself from your own expectations, find practical solutions, feel inspired and motivated and supported into being the right educator for your children, you can do it and you’ll absolutely feel more confident and inspired after reading this book.

Loved her ideas and helps for homeschooling. Her way of thinking about teaching and learning can be applied to any parent/child relationship- home school, public school, or somewhere in between. It's a different way of thinking

While we won’t be homeschooling long term, I found parts of this book very encouraging and helpful. We’ve been lacking a lot of joy during school time and this helped give me some ideas to help spice things up a bit. While I totally disagree with her thoughts on cleaning amongst other things, I still found this to be a valuable read. Take what you need and leave the rest is a good philosophy while reading these types of books.
