Although I have some slight mixed feelings about this book, I overall enjoyed it. The sister themes, the feminism, the amazing Greek Mythology in a new light, and the twists and turns made this book great. I would read the sequel in a heart beat.
I do, however, have a few issues. I think this is just because the book felt like it needed another round of edits. It could have been a bit longer, using the beginning as a way to like the characters before we start the action, and the world-building could have been expanded. This is not normally something I say about fantasy novels because they are normally long, and this could have used more.
I also did not like AT ALL in a feminist novel that Zeus had to be trained by Theo. In a world where female warriors are guarding the Boy God, why is the only man on the island the one training her? There are so many other capable women. I also did not like that, as a character piece, Zeus was known for not lying. However, in the second scene we see him in, he is lying. Either have him always tell the truth, or always lie. There has to be a middle ground.
I also think that there should have been more of the romance plot (what is going on with Zeus? And, if she is Hera, should we have more of a Zeus/Hera romance considering they are married?) and more of Cleora. She is a great character but we barely saw her. It doesn't make me want to save her, or hear all about her, because we barely know her. Having that beginning world building would have helped.
Overall, Wings of Fury was a very exciting and different book. I would recommend this book for people who like Lore, A Court of Silver Flames, or Song of Achilles.

I've never been happier to have impulse-bought a book without knowing anything about the author or others' reviews of it. The shortest way to my heart is a protagonist like Althea, rightfully angry and apologetic for nothing she does not need to apologize for. Furthermore, I found the concept of the book refreshing - we surely have had plenty of mythology-inspired stories of Olympos under Zeus' reign so it's exciting to see such a take. Let's just say it's a miracle for any author to male me root for Zeus for once and wish for more from him, a better version of him. Time will tell.
