A dual POV, best friend's sibling romance with EXCELLENT disability and mental health/therapy rep. This one has been on my TBR for a while and turned out to be my favorite of the series to boot! Highly recommended and great on audio with amazing panic attack and therapy rep (him) and chiari malformation/chronic pain rep (her). Absolutely loved it and can't gush about it enough!

I received an eARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review:

I've enjoyed all the books in this series, but I think Kate Clayborn saved the best for last. In the story of Greer and Alex, the after-effects of trauma mark each character, but they are far more than what has happened to them.

I appreciated that Greer was introduced as a person first and not a condition. I got to know her as a complex person before understanding how she got that way. Alex was hyperaware of Greer from the beginning but he begins to see her as someone who sees the entire him and is not trying to trap him or tie him down. Greer is quiet but has no problem giving it right back to him.

Art and service to others were central themes her for both characters although they approached it in different and complementary ways. A beautiful, emotional love story that circled back to family, survival, and finally living a fully human life. I loved their story.

Oh I loved this story! Books by this author make me feel all the feels and I never want them to end!!

I was really excited to read Greer's book after getting to know her in the first book of the series. Plus I was super curious to see how it would work with Alex and his never going to settle down, always on the move lifestyle. Oh these two were wonderful.

Greer is working hard to get her degree so she can start her new job and be free. I cannot imagine being her and having her family constantly treat her like she can't do anything. Or having to check in with my mom at least twice a day every day forever. I couldn't deal with that no matter what was going on with me.

And Alex? Oh, my heart. He wants quick fixes for everything and for it all to magically just be better. But things don't work that way. I loved these two together. They were so sweet and oh, I didn't want this story to end. The way this author writes her stories makes me so wrapped up in them, feeling all the feels, that I can't get enough. I know I will be re-reading this story again and again.

the really annoying thing about this one is that everything i've thought about kate clayborn's writing remains true: she has a lovely style and a great way with characters, who are real and convey a great depth to them. i loved the attention she gives to their flaws, their struggles, challenges, their triumphs and determination. i love the way the books make the emotional growth a huge and intrinsic part and how that's paired with the plot. i still think this is all done well here.

but it's ultimately, for a romance really, a book about two people who i just didn't buy together and didn't enjoy reading about much at all. i wasn't excited about this -- this is prob obvs bc i read the other 2 close together and hadn't finished the trilogy yet -- but i wanted to give it a fair try. i didn't like it! i knew i wouldn't and i was right!

but with all that said, i can see other people being into this and if they like the characters and stuff it'll click for them. there's nothing wrong. its just not for me and it couldn't grab my attention. i was bored.
