So far the best non fictional book I have ever read. Really recommended for those who ask themselves what humankind and the whole planet would look like in the near future according to the information we have gathered until now.

Terrifying. Exciting? Full of thoughts I hadn’t considered. I guess if you can’t take it with you, then what kind of data do you want to leave behind?

Really interesting and thoughtful provoking insights as to what future looks like for us humans. As someone who thinks shit looks pretty gloomy it was interesting esp thinking about the emergence of AI and the possibility of biotech and changing how we even define humanity. I did also like thinking about the idea of everything having a soul if thats how we define humans-- animals everything but things get lost in translation since we don't speak the same. Def had my brain turning

Yuval's knowledge and research in putting this book together in the organized and descriptive way he has shows his command of history. He uses science and knowledge wonderfully to describe the possibilities where mankind is headed. The technological ideas are presented well and at times are shocking, but they are all possibilities. This is the point: to make you think about them. While I liked Sapiens better, this book does not fall short. At times I felt some of it was repetitive like "Okay! I got it!" but this was most likely on purpose. Not a detractor from the book, but a vast majority of the concepts, ideas, and especially the examples will most likely be outdated in a few years since it relies on current, 2017, technology.

After I started reading this I found out about some statements from the author concerning Palestine and I could not continue the book after learning of them. I do not want to support this author in any way.

The book tries to address the question which has passed through all of our minds, increasingly these days when we hear about the genetic editing technological advances, where does the human life stand in this automated world, what will tomorrow look like once machines and genetically edited superhumans take over the world? For centuries we have subjugated other living species considering ourselves as superiors. What is the major difference between us?What made us believe we are superior? will we be on the recieving end in the future? we say we have entered a peaceful state of coexistence, but once these technologies become a commonplace, How would the power dynamics be like? If the developments continue, without any appropriate political interventions, many professionals would be redundant, how are we going to deal with increasing unemployment, what will economic and political system look like? If these questions intrigue you, you should surely read this book!! the answers are not very satiating at times, there were instances where I was more confused than before, but that is also our collective lack of knowledge of certain things. At times you might loose a track of thought since the chapter begans with some question and ends up answering so many other things, but overall it's a interesting book to read.

Favourite: " History isn't a single narrative, but thousands of alternative narratives. Whenever we choose to tell one, We are choosing to silence others".
