My mind is always blown when I read or reread anything by Orwell. His precise metaphors and analogies that represent the world as we know it are just as relevant now as they were in the 1940s when this was first published. He was truly an author that commented on the world at a time before the world was ready for it.

The cycle of power and rebellion are upon us again.

I can't believe I had never read this book before. Somewhere, I slipped through the cracks of the public education system and missed this classic. In fact, I haven't read 1984 either (which I intend to remedy soon). It was a quick read, but had a true message and made me realize that I had very little knowledge of Russia during Stalin's rule. The allegory is excellent and I really enjoyed reading it.
