The worst part of that book is how much Natalie hates herself to think she deserves all the bullshit Alden said to her . He “sleeps with her “ - because stationary rape is rape - and I think Mia was even his girlfriend at that time , goes to college and become so freakin successful then comes back find out he has a daughter got really mad at Natalie even though she explains over and over again that she was protecting him . And he keeps acting like he is the freakin victim. Even though he said that he has been having sexual thoughts about her since she was 16 - and he was freakin 20 like a creep - had sex with her - it was her the first time - when he was at her party and supposedly watching a group of teenagers to make sure they don’t do something stupid.
Moreover every single character in the god damn book agrees that he did absolutely nothing wrong and it was her fault all along including her parents and older brother. Which leads us to : the author actually thinks that the 17 year old actually carries all the blame . Which lead her to keep acting like this pathetic guilty person through the book , that she thinks she is so damn lucky that Alden gave her any kind of attention.

Best Laid Plans is an amazing story about not letting the past hold you back from the future. Natalie shows you that even when you make mistakes when you are younger it does not define who you are and your happiness! Such a fantastic read! There isn't a single person who shouldn't read this book!
I've been wanting to read a book from L.K. Farlow since she released her first one. I decided Best Laid Plans would be my first when I found out it involved a single mom.
I got to 80%. Consent is more than questionable. You cannot consent if under the influence no matter the gender. Highly do not recommend. NOPE.
