They say men have sex on the brain 99.99 percent of the time. You're not going to catch me trying to dispute that...In my case, though-and I suppose, in my defense-sex is part of my job.
Well, heck, Lauren Blakely, when your main man opens with this statement, where can things go but up? I have to admit that, having fallen so completely in love with BIG ROCK when it came out, I had high hopes for MISTER O. I mean, just the title-how could it be anything but great? Well, no surprise, Lauren has artfully delivered another wonderful friends-to-lovers story, complete with characters that I wish I could actually spend time with, sizzling chemistry, and a repeat performance by the inestimable Fido, king among cats.
Nick Hammer (yes, that's his real name, thank you very much), cartoonist extraordinaire, and best friend of Spencer Holliday of BIG ROCK fame, finds himself in a fix. See, he's ready to cross a line, that line that says that you don't mess with your best friend's sister. But Nick can't help himself, because Harper Holliday has had the starring role in Nick's late night fantasies and early morning shower time for quite a while.
Harper Holiday. Red hair. Blue eyes. Face of a sweet, sexy angel, body of a badass, ninja-warrior princess, and a mouth adept at pitch-perfect delivery of sarcasm. I'd play Dirty Synonyms, Dirty Antoynyms...Dirty Anything with her.
Yep, Nick definitely has Harper on the brain, and when she comes to him for help in the romance department, he can't say yes quickly enough.
I have to admit to having a mad girl crush on Harper. I mean, she's a magician. Like, sleight of hand, pull Skittles out of your ear, do it for a living magician. Totally badass, indeed. The fact that she's looking for schooling in the love department just makes her more endearing.
I want to look into someone's eyes and feel like he knows me, gets me, understands me. I want him to see my quirks and accept them, not try to change them. I want to know what that's like.
Not so much to ask for, right? And, before he knows what's hit him, Nick wants to be that guy, because, when he least expects it, this quirky, sexy, Princess of Many Faces has grabbed his heart, and he's so gone.
Lauren continues to write books that engage and delight from the first page, and there is not one of her characters that does not reside in my heart. MISTER O continues the Lauren legacy, and I could not have asked for a better follow-up book in this series. A well-deserved 5+-stars for MISTER O, and lots of left over warm fuzzies and smiles for me. Next up, WELL HUNG, where Nick's brother Wyatt gets his story, and I cannot wait. If you haven't started these books, do it now. They are not to be missed.

Ehhh...I didn't really care about this book.
This was a pretty generic read, and I found it very unrealistic. Characters were sort of fun, but I felt like everything they said or done would never happen in real life. And yes, I know that it's a book, and not real life but come onnn. The story was pretty much all cliche, and some things were really cheesy. I caught myself rolling my eyes far too many times. In my opinion, it was just okay. Wouldn't be my first choice for recommendations.

Enjoyed this much more than I'd expected. Nice story but I do wish it had moved a bit more quickly. But, overall, enjoyed it.
4,5 Orgasmic Stars!!
Wow!! Is it HOT in here or what??
Fantastic light read about forbidden love to his best friend's sister. And since it was a book told from the point of view of a guy (which was a cool change from most of the books that I have read) you will find here a lot of sex for sure ;)

"Giving a women a sheet-grabbing, toe-curling, mind-blowing orgasm is pretty much the Best Thing Ever."
Thing that makes me wonder after reading this book is:
Do men so often fantasize about women?
I do not know .. Probably yes?
Maybe we will never know but it is good to read such a book once in a while. Brings some answers to the question: What is he thinking right now?
So, tkank you Lauren Blakely :)
Notes:
I like the group of characters that link the stories in this series together. This was a cute romance but not as well developed as the Big Rock.

This book is soooo much fun to read! Nick being a cartoonist, Harper being a magician. All their inside jokes, their Sunday crossword puzzles, the lessons, the sexts! Lauren Blakely created very fun characters with the plus side of having it in Nick's POV. I'm very excited to read Wyatt's, Simon's, and Tyler's! Cheers to you, Lauren Blakely, I'm a new fan and I am definitely excited for your next books for this year!
