funny

As someone who studies modern history, I respect the efforts of anyone who embarks on the difficult task of trying to study the lives of the distant past, where historical records are not abundant. Sometimes I felt as though the author made huge estimations, but either way it created an engaging narrative that I like to retell to people all the time

Not gonna lie, the fact that I had to read this for a history class probably took all the interest out of it. I mean, it's a cool story and a cool peice of history, but it was just a little dry for me.

I read it for a course at uni- it goes quick and it’s incredibly interesting.

There’s an imposter!

I read this for my medieval history class. It was a little dull, but a very interesting story. Would recommend to anyone interested in medieval history/law.

I love this book. I don't get to teach it often because when am I ever teaching Early mod Europe? Never. But I got to teach it with my first-years this semester as an example of a microhostory (to endeavor to model their own papers on) and it is engaging and interesting and sassy and I LOVE IT. The students like or love it too, so it's a win win! Poor Pansette.

One of those books that you can't believe actually happened.

Read it for a Renaissance and Reformation class. Good book with interesting history.
