but the other two were delighted with the Dawn Treader, and when they turned aft to the cabin and supper, and saw the whole western sky lit up with an immense crimson sunset, and felt the quiver of the ship, and tasted the salt on their lips, and thought of unknown lands on the eastern rim of the world, Lucy felt that she was almost too happy to speak.

This one didn’t feel like it had as much structure to it as the others, but I still enjoyed it a lot! The metaphors were thoughtful and served as great reminders. Really liked it.

2022 reread: There was a lot of biting lines and turns of phrase that I enjoyed especially in this read through that I don't remember appreciating before. I love the adventure of this book, the dragon, the character arc of Eustace, and the mysterious wonder of the final chapters, at the edge of the world.

One of my favorite of the Narnia books.

Aslan just shows up and solves everything everytime something happens. No stakes whatsoever.

This was one of my fave of the Narnia books as a kid and it felt so pleasingly nostalgic returning to it.
