I'll preface this by saying that apparently I didn't read the blurb closely enough because I did not realize this is an alpha/omega book. What I learned is that, if this book is emblematic of alpha/omega stories, they probably aren't for me. A bit too much emphasis on biological imperatives and traditional gender roles—and I would wager that this book probably has better impulses than most, given the lengthy discussions of nature vs nurture as well as Mack's strength and independence. Ultimately, the whole heat and knotting thing (truly like 50% of the book) just doesn't do it for me, but the smut was smutting. The dual POV was really well deployed, Dr. Martin was a great villain, and Mack and Noah's circle of family and friends felt like real people rather than just devices for their love story. Light, fun, sexy, but I won't be revisiting the alpha/omega world any time soon.

Beautiful, fun, lighthearted read. Great for fans of witty banter. Grumpy x sunshine, fated mates, fake dating, alle the good shit. Great for those of us who had a significant AO3 phase ;). Pretty light on plot. Pretty fast paced.

This was too cute! The third act scene/moment (you’ll see for yourself if you read this)  was SO predictable, but nevertheless I really enjoyed this.

Noah was cute and shy, and yet assertive and hot. Mackenzie was bubbly and such a cutie too, I loved these two dorks, they were so dumb and in love and it was so obvious to everyone but them ❣️

The smut was very well written too, and I enjoyed that they were emotionally vulnerable with each other. I also REALLY appreciated the fact that there wasn’t any macho-ness or toxic masculinity added into this story… that’s why I usually stay clear from omegaverse stuff, it’s toxic shit. Some authors have issues, this one doesn’t it was so refreshing to read. Will definitely be picking up more books from this author!

This was a nice, simple, hot palate cleanser and just wonderful, I really recommend! 4 stars only because I was hoping for more for the ending.

So shifter romance is definitely not my genre, but I really enjoy Ferguson's voice and writing. I feel like this was a good intro to the shifter world while still reading like a traditional contemporary romance. I would read another by her.

I went into reading this completely blind and knot really having any knowledge of the omegaverse. Let me tell you, I ATE THIS UP!! Boy did I learn a thing or two about alphas/omegas from this (ahem knotting) and then to toss in fake dating? Yes please!! Mix in the audiobook with Joe Arden? Say no more, just take my money. This book was funny, cute, and spicy. If you're wanting to try a shifter romance, I would definitely check this one out!

Noah needs a fake mate because the hospital board found out that he’s an Alpha and he’s afraid he might lose his job because unbonded Alphas are considered aggressive and dangerous. Mackenzie needs a fake boyfriend to present to her grandmother so she will stop setting her up on disastrous dates, so they make a deal to help each other.

I’m not sure what happened with this book exactly. Everything I learned about it fits my reading taste so I was sure I would love it but that wasn’t the case. Now I’m not saying the book is bad. I enjoyed the characters, the chemistry was there and the storyline might’ve been predictable but so are 90% of Rom-Coms and that’s not a bad thing. I can’t really point out anything bad in particular about the book but I did have to force myself to finish it after 5 days.
