Five stars is not enough.
Also it’s 5🌶️.

This is a new favorite book, and I don’t care what that says about me.

Reads a lot like an Ali Hazelwood novel but MORE SPICY? I’m obsessed.

The characters aren't too deep, but there are arcs for Mackenzie and Noah that has them both grow. Diversity is meh. I don't remember any characters specifically described diversely, but there is a Gay Best Friend who ends up being vital to the plot.

Cute? Yes.
Sexy? Obviously.

I will not be speaking about knots lol but I was surprised to see it again as I thought I was an avid reader of the werewolf universe.
I’ve been humbled.

Taking a step back from that, this couple has nothing in common!

They’re not into the same things, and Noah has the personality of wet cardboard.

I kept waiting for more of him to be revealed, (he’s really into music or cooking or hiking or whatever) but he’s just hot and tall and a doctor.
And yes, being a doctor is a great passion but we don’t get any backstory or “why” so it rings hollow.

For the premise of the book and the main conflict to unfold because of Noah’s career, I would’ve liked a little bit more about why it was so important to him, and to drive home the consequences of potentially losing his job.

I did like that MacKenzi’s arc felt logical. Terrible (sad) Dad leaves her and her fear of commitment and abandonment means that watching her slowly come to terms with loving another person made sense. I was glad that that wasn’t the thing to drive a wedge between them.

As a couple, chemistry was very obvious and I guess that’s because of the alpha-omega thing. She’s the bigger catch in the relationship (there’s gotta be one, that’s fine) but I don’t understand what she’s getting in return from their relationship so (like all the other characters) I find their romance a little hard to believe.

If Ferguson’s goal was to write a steamy werewolf book then cool; mission accomplished and I dig it. However, I think she fell flat with the actual substance of the story.
