I thought this was a really vulnerable read, had great character development, absolutely loved the Jewish representation included, the fact sex was openly discussed (MCs are 18) and treated as a completely normal thing. Loved the focus on friendship, being fearless in talking about what we like/what we want to do, overcoming hardships, and giving ourselves grace when the outcome looks different than expected. Really loved this one.

Such a cute book! I wanted a break from the dark stuff I was reading, and this was perfect for it. The beginning was a bit boring but once the game commenced it became much more interesting. The author made it really obvious that Neil liked Rowan from the start, so the rivalry could've been portrayed better and the writing felt a bit plain and too straightforward, especially the dialogues. It tried to touch deeper subjects too while being so positive about it, I liked that! It was interesting how the story revolved around Seattle. And the romance novels subplot thing validated all of my feelings about them lol

This book is everything to me! Rowan is such a loveable and relatable character. Personally, I love female main characters that read, so that was very special to me. And Neil stole my heart throughout the book. He was just so sweet and they are so well matched together. Although I'm not Jewish, I could appreciate the cultural aspects within the book and their mutual bonding over their religion. The scene with Savannah being antisemitic added more complexity to Rowan's character and we got to see more into her experiences as a Jewish-American girl.

The overall premise of this book was very unique too. With it all being set within 24 hours and the HOWL game. The adventures and ups and downs they went through in this short time had me attached to this book anticipating what would happen next. I loved how this book had many of the cute YA tropes but without the awfulness that can be YA romance sometimes. I'm a sucker for academic rivals and this book served that and everything more. I do wish there was a little something more at the end, like maybe Neil's valedictorian speech. Another thing I regret was reading this via audiobook because I missed out on seeing the cute little notes at the end of each chapter.

1000/10 would recommend this book!
