Oh, how I’ve missed Ronan! RELEASE ME is divided into two parts; part 1 (or the before) is the Ronan novella we were blessed with a few years back. Part 2 (the after) occurs one year after the of Own Me! So basically you get two novellas in Ronan’s spin-off book!
Part 1 is just so much damn fun. It’s so quintessentially Ronan and the novella is him in all his glory. It shows that he has a tender side too, which I absolutely loved.
Part 2 is Ronan’s life and story “post-Abbi.” He gets the opportunity of a lifetime by becoming the Director of Facilities of Wolf Hotel’s newest hotel in sunny Mermaid Beach! He’s learning as he goes but still having fun in the process. After losing the love of his life (twice!) he meets Sloane Parker, who’s lived in Mermaid Beach all her life.
He soon finds out that Sloane has a business and home that was started by her grandmother Gigi. She wants to continue her grandmother’s legacy but the new Wolf Hotel is threatening her business and livelihood. Things get more complicated when she finds out who Ronan is and they end up mixing business with pleasure.
The book ends with a cliffy! Loved the cameos from all of our fave characters from the Wolf Hotel series! 3.5⭐️
A huge thanks to @valentine_pr_ and @katucker_ for the eARC in exchange for my honest review! 💕

The “before and after” timeframe of this contemporary romance was compelling, it was like getting the inside scoop on a favorite character from a past series without having read said past series. Ronan’s growth and his quest to understand himself and his purpose was emotional and raw. How refreshing that his character is a blue collar professional. His two love interests, Ryan and Sloane—at each point in his life, respectively, were such strong and sassy woman and despite giving in to temptation quite quickly also gave Ronan a run for his money. And wow, the spice was steamy and hot. I am not sure I have ever wanted to drop all responsibilities to go and read a backlist series as much as I do after reading this spin-off series. If they were anything like Ronan’s story, I’m in for the biggest, sweetest treat ever.
Thanks to the author and Valentine PR for the eARC.

Happy release day, @katucker_ !!🫶🏼🎉 thank you and @valentine_pr_ for the opportunity to ARC read Ronan and Sloane’s story! I was so excited to dive back into the Wolf Hotel world. This book was wonderfulllllll. The banter between Ronan and Sloane. The tension build up. The business rivals, bad boy/good girl, forbidden vibes were just 🤌🏼🤌🏼 I loved picking up on Ronan’s story and he’s trying to start over. He’s finally moved on from Tasha and working on moving on from Abbi. He’s quit smoking and given up one night stands. Enter Sloane. Girl is a ✨hurricane✨ and she is determined to protect her home and businesses from Wolf Hotel. Once she finds out who Ronan works for, she is reluctant to let him get closer, but there is such an undeniable pull and chemistry between them that is hard to resist. And can we talk about the tiki bar scene?🥵🔥 I can’t wait to get more of their story in the next book!
For those of us lucky enough to have read the novella Ronan - the first half of this book is basically that novella, plus a little. The second part of the book, 'After Abbi', is Mermaid Beach, the gold we're here for! I did read Ronan, so the first half was a refresher for me, which I still thoroughly enjoyed jumping back into the Wolf world.
Release Me is the first in the new Mermaid Beach series, introducing us to the characters and the story. It was definitely a 'set-up' book for the rest of the series, but we got to love Ronan (and Connor) again and introduced to Sloane and all her crew. While I would have loved a whole book of these characters, I'm so excited to continue with this series and see what else Mermaid Beach has in store for us!! That ending!
So many thanks to @valentinepr and K.A. Tucker for my advanced digital ARC.

I was so excited when I got the chance to read this book—thank you to Valentine PR and K.A. Tucker! It’s been a year since I’ve been in this world, but I have to say, Connor hasn’t changed one bit.
The story is split into two parts: before Abbi and after Abbi. The first part is where Ronan meets Connor for the first time, and we get some classic Connor lines that cracked me up:
“That’s Ronan. He ‘comes quick.’ Tell all your friends,” Connor quips from behind.
“You kidding? I want you to try something with her. Just let me be there to see it. It’ll be fun watching her kick you in the nuts.”
“Fair point. Definitely arsenic, then.” We stare at the muffins for another five seconds. “Fuck it. I’ve led a good life.” Connor takes one and shoves it into his mouth.
I was hoping Ronan and Ryan would start a relationship because they both deserved it. Ronan was the perfect person for Ryan to move on to her person, but then he had to get his heart broken a second time. After Abbi, he attempts to move forward, though unfortunately, with the wrong person.
After Abbi, we meet Sloane, who I have some theories about, but we’ll have to wait and see how the series plays out. I loved their relationship and can’t wait to see it grow, especially with that ending wow.
The sneaking around in the first part was great, but that bar scene was definitely 🥵. Any scene with Sloane and Ronan is filled with passion, and I can’t wait for more of that in the next book.
If you haven’t read The Wolf Hotel series, I highly recommend reading it first to understand these characters. I can’t wait for more books in this series!
Happy reading, everyone! 📚
Thanks to Valentine PR and KA Tucker for a gifted copy of Release Me.
I was so excited to get my hands on Release Me because I was obsessed with The Wolf Hotel series. I’m not sure I’ve ever was an entire series so fast.
And let me tell you Release Me didn’t disappoint. I loved getting more of Ronan and Connor. And Mermaid Beach sounds like the place to be.
I already know that I’m going to love Ronan and Sloane. They make such great characters and pair. I can’t wait to see where their story goes.
I laughed so much during this book and the drama is perfect.
My only regret is that I have to wait to read the next book because OMG that ending. I can already tell it’s gonna be a bingeable series!

"Release Me" by K.A. Tucker was.....fine, I guess??? I didn't love it, and I didn't hate it. I did not read the original Wolf Hotel series, so maybe that would have enhanced my experience reading this one. As it stands on its own, it's only fine to me. I have no doubt that fans of the series will be goo-goo-ga-ga over Ronan which, frankly, get better book boyfriends, lol. I feel like this story lacked a spark to get me interested. I did not like how the book was separated into two distinct parts. From my understanding, the first half is a previously published novella, reworked to become the first part of this book. This part showcases playboy Ronan scr3wing anything and everything with a pulse. Why is this desirable? Then it abruptly ends and he and Connor go to work at an exclusive Wolf Hotel in Alaska. The second half of the book felt forced and stilted. I did not really buy into Ronan and Sloan's chemistry with one another. I didn't feel any semblance of a spark between them at all. They are only around each other due to their forced proximity related to his boss wanting to take over her business and land space to expand his hotel empire a little bit more. Not only did I not believe it, but it felt rushed, too. I don't think we got enough time to stay with Sloan as an individual character to really get a sense of who she is. Ronan is apparently "reformed" at this point in an effort to endear him to the audience who thought he was a jerk in the first half. Again, maybe it's because I didn't read the initial series, but I felt more of a connection between Ronan and Abbi, who is barely even in this book. I really just wanted to slap Ronan and Connor silly. Maybe I am just an old person now, but the characters in this book felt so juvenile. I am not a parent, but I wanted to parent the $h1t out of them! I don't know, maybe I will go back and read the Wolf Hotel series and then come back and give "Release Me" another shot. I will still read the sequel to this book because I am a completionist, but I walked away feeling unimpressed.
Thank you to Valentine PR and K.A. Tucker for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

Let me start by saying that this was the first book I've read of the Wolf Hotel series and now I definitely have to go back and get caught up! This was Ronan's book...well the start of it anyways. The book is separated into 2 parts: Before Abbi + After Abbi. Because I hadn't read the Wolf Hotel series before, this didn't really mean anything to me and it wasn't explained more until Part 2 when I learned who Abbi was and the pieces started to come together for how Ronan was connected to the previous books. I didn't find it stopped me from wanting to continue this book at all, if anything I was so invested in Part 2. When Part 1 ended, I was kind of wondering where the story would go next...
After getting his heart broken by his ex, Ronan becomes a playboy. I need to say that his ex has the same name as me so it was so weird seeing my name and getting angry at this B haha. I love that this book left me wondering whether he would remain a playboy or not though. I so wanted for him to find something more than sex for himself. He knows he's hot, he knows he has charm, and pretty much always gets what he wants. Except the girl apparently, poor guy.
Part 2 - enter Sloane. She owns the property and business next to the new Wolf Hotel in Mermaid Beach. Her and Ronan have to work together for their own reasons, and just can't seem to resist each other in the process. Things get really steamy really fast between them, but not serious.
We were left on a cliff, just hanging there on several different things, and I absolutely must know what happens next!

I loved Ronan from the og series and was very excited to see this was coming out. I had to sign up for the arc!
Ronan is back and somehow even more chaotic, complicated, and impossible to resist. This book is split into two parts, and both hit hard.
Part one dives into Ronan’s past—his friendship with Connor, his heartbreak, and how he ended up in Alaska. It also unpacks his intimacy habits and emotional walls, which makes everything that happens later land even deeper. Also, it is seriously spicy.
Part two brings the heat and the heart. Ronan meets Sloane, and their chemistry is instant and intense, but it never feels shallow. Their romance is messy in the best way. It’s a constant push and pull between desire and control, past hurt and future plans. The emotional payoff is real, and Ronan’s filthy mouth does not disappoint.
Sloane is a standout. She’s strong, grounded, and vulnerable in a way that feels authentic. I already know I’m going to love her in the next book.
Bonus: cameos from Henry and Abby gave me life. The Henry and Ronan banter is everything.
The book ends on a huge cliffhanger with four major disasters looming. I’m stressed, and I loved every second of it.
