Release Me is exactly the spin-off I didn’t know I needed but now can’t imagine being without. If you’ve read The Wolf Hotel series, then you already know who Ronan is—and if you’re like me, you’ve probably been hoping we’d get more of him one day. K.A. Tucker delivered.
This book is split into two parts, and the structure is so satisfying. The first half revisits Ronan’s past—what he was going through emotionally right before we met him in Tempt Me. If you read the original Ronan novella, this version is even better: polished, expanded, and layered in ways that make you understand him more. The second half jumps forward to life after the original series ends, and I don’t want to say much about it...but wow, I was hooked.
Ronan is the perfect combo of messy, charming, and unexpectedly sweet. He’s got his flaws, no doubt, but that just made me love him more. The friendships (especially his bond with Connor) are one of the best parts of the book—equal parts funny, heartfelt, and a little chaotic. Also, for longtime fans, there are some familiar faces that made me ridiculously happy.
The pacing? Spot on. The banter? So good. The ending? Cliffhanger. (And I am not okayin the best way.)
While you technically could start with this one, I highly recommend reading The Wolf Hotel series first. These stories are so interconnected, and experiencing them in order just hits different.
K.A. Tucker, thank you for more Ronan. I’ll take every page you give us.

Release Me, Book 1 of the new series The Wolf Hotel Mermaid Beach, by K. A. Tucker @katucker. OMG! Ronan!!! Ronan is from The Wolf Hotel series & I am so glad he is finally getting his own story! 🤩 This book includes Ronan’s novella but has been expanded is now called Before Abbi & then the start of Ronan & Sloane picks up in After Abbi.

I really liked that Ronan’s novella was included in this book to refresh my memory of him! This was a great book about Ronan & Sloane. Tropes: Contemporary, Male/Female, Ronan has really grown as a person, Ex Drama & A Cliffhanger!

I SO UNBELIEVEABLY GRATEFUL to get the chance to get an Advanced copy of this spin off from Wolf Hotel Series, because that series was one of my top reads in 2024!

As someone that did not read Ronan's novella books, the before Alaska (Part 1) of the book was really new to me! I got to meet Ronan in a different way besides the side you see in the Wolf Hotel books. Yes he was a playboy before he left for Alaska.... LOL but you got to see a whole other part.

Part 2 is where the REAL STORY begins... with Sloane! "The Crazy Chicken Neighbor Lady"
In this book I actually found Conner to be VERY and I mean VERY ANNOYING and immature.
Henry Wolf is a MUCH BIGGER asshole....
The character development of Ronan was really good! You could tell he was really trying to change how he was in Alaska. I cant wait to see where this story continues between Sloane and Ronan.... BECAUSE THAT ENDING!!!

I was beyond excited for us to get Ronan's story. Adding his novella to the beginning and having it separated as "Before Abbi" and "After Abbi" was a little heartbreaking for those who loved Ronan in the first part of the Wolf Hotel series.

I think under all his fuckboy ways, Ronan just wants someone to call his own. And boy has he finally met his match. Sloane is sassy and doesn't seem like she will be letting him get away with any bullshit.

Of course we have our bestie Connor for all the banter and comedic relief when the angst is getting too angsty. I love where this story is heading and that cliffhanger? All I can say is YIKES.

Thank you to Valentine PR and K.A. Tucker for sending me an ARC to review.

I have to preface this review by stating that the Wolf Hotel series is one of my all time favorite book series. I’ve reread several times and Abbi and Henry mean so much to me. When I heard that KA Tucker was continuing the series from Ronan’s perspective, I freaked out! Ronan is one of the most lovable side characters and you meet him in the Wolf Hotel series. Getting to read the start of a new series centered around him was a blast. I loved getting inside the quiet, reformed playboys head.

While this one didn’t have quite the same spark for me as Wolf Hotel I still read it in under 24 hours which should tell you something. And that ending?? I’m so glad book two comes out sooner rather than later!!

The reason my rating isn’t as high as I thought it would be is solely because of the first half of this book. This is just my opinion, obviously, but I don’t really think part one was necessary. I know the author wanted to include the original novella with this book but it threw the pacing off for me and I felt like it didn’t contribute too much besides some minor context.

The chemistry between Sloane and Ronan also felt forced. Again I contribute the rushed development of their relationship to the first part of the story. The romance to me wasn’t too believable. Ronan has been celibate for months, still half in love with Abbi, but one interaction with Sloane and he’s head over heels? However, as the story went on I enjoyed their dynamic more. With more books coming that leaves plenty of room for their relationship to develop further and I can’t wait!

I also liked the way a new hotel being built in an established town was approached. We get to see Henry’s endeavors from a different perspective and how his business affects the local towns he infiltrates.

KA Tucker did not have to continue writing books in this world/series but she is and I couldn’t be more grateful for more books to escape into.

Thank you to the author and Valentine PR for the ARC

Back to Wolf Hotel! So exciting! I love Ronan and Connor! They are such a duo. This book is following Ronan and his love life before and after Abbi.
A broken hearted man trying to put his life back together getting through women as he goes, until he finally meets Sloane. Major conflict of interest as he works for Wolf and she owns her own business that Wolf intends to buy. Slow burn, angst, enemies to lovers, forbidden love. It has it all. Love this book so glad to get more from Wolf hotel!!
