The Bad Boy Rule

Maren Moore

4.09 AVERAGE

The Bad Boy Rule was everything I love about a Maren Moore book and so much more. Lennon & Saint were worth the wait and then some. There's something inherently hot about the bad boy/good girl trope, especially when the bad boy falls hard.

Saint's the type of man that doesn't come back for seconds, that is until he meets Lennon. While their initial meeting wasn't such a meet cute, the push and pull that ensued while these two fell for one another was top tier romance. And that spice was spicing! The mouth on that man was sinful and I loved it. Lennon wasn't such a good girl once Saint had his way with her and I'm not mad about it one bit, and trust me when I say neither was Lennon. IYKYK

Your heart will bleed a little for Saint at all he's been through, but when he opens himself up to Lennon she becomes his person, and your heart will be healed. Saint proved to be exactly what Lennon needed as well because he helped her become stronger and truly find herself and her voice.

Already looking forward to more from Hellcats Hockey!

Oooooo baby this book has fire and ice. Sparks and flames. I was obsessed with Saint the moment we met him. He is the epitome of bad boy and I love that Lennon becomes his safe space. Once they start they don’t stop and I was living for it.

Saint and Lennon. “Satan” and “Golden Girl”. These two couldn’t be more opposite in every single way, yet they fit and work together like no other.

Saint has rules - no kissing, no cuddling, no staying over, and never sleep with the same girl twice. OU’s bad boy hockey player, Saint Devereaux is every girls dream. He’s broody, he has tattoos, and you get what you get with him. He has a vendetta against the man that ruined his family.

Lennon Rousseau, the virgin figure skater who has done everything in her life that her parents have asked of her. Now, she is taking her life back and making her own choices. Her parents want a perfect boy for her? Well, she wants a bad boy then to shove in their face.

Fake dating should be easy right? Just don’t fall for the bad boy.

4.5 stars

I really loved this book! The start of this new Hellcat's series is off to a great start!

You love this book if you love reformed Playboys x Good Girls, hockey romances, banter, dirty talk and a sweet love story.

Thanks to Valentine PR and Maren Moore for this ARC.

*ARC REVIEW*

i say this every time i read a maren
book but gollllyyy does she know how to write the spiciest scenes and some of the best male main characters. 🤯🥵 i think saint was one of her filthiest men yet!

if you love sports romance, capital S-
S P I C E, coupled with a healthy dose of drama, wrapped up in a bow with a satisfying conclusion- you need this book. i always enjoy maren’s work, but particularly loved the characters in this one and the ways they grew, changed, and learned from each other. saint wasn’t the typical golden retriever type that you often see in maren’s books, but instead was a certified bad boy with a lot of trauma, pain, and brokenness inside him. lennon is a recovering people pleaser, and is a character that i think a lot of people will relate to! one of my main notes is that i would’ve honestly liked even a little more drama between the families! i do always appreciate when there is no third-act conflict, which you won’t find here!

thank you so much to valentine PR and the author for providing this ARC for me to read & review!! this book is available everywhere NOW!💜🏒⛸️

Omg what a roller-coaster of emotions. In all the best ways of course. The way Saint just grabbed my heart and didn't let go. His story had me in tears at times. And Lennon although she was struggling with her own issues I loved how strong she was not only for herself but also for Saint. The writting in this book is so amazing you could just feel the emotions coming off the pages, it was unbelievable. I couldn't put it down once I started. It's such an incredible book and I really suggest picking it up, there story will hold a special place in my heart.

“Don’t forget, Golden Girl, that you’re mine to kiss… touch… whatever I want. Even if it’s just for show.”

Ahh I loved this so much! Literally could not put it down and finished it in 24 hours!

Lennon has always been a dutiful daughter, doing everything her parents wanted of her but when her father tries to bring an ex boyfriend back into her life she realizes that she’s just a puppet to them.

Saint is the bad boy of Orleans University, wicked on the ice and a complete player off the ice.

When they both end up having to share the ice together, it’s not a good time. Siant constantly pushes her buttons in every way, these scene were my favourite! The banter and chemistry between them 🥵

Lennon decides to get back at her by coming up with a plan to fake date saint, knowing how much her parents will hate it. But the more time they spend together, the closer they get, the more lines start to blur and they forget all about the fake part of their relationship 😏

I absolutely loved these two together! They were complete opposites but they found happiness and safely in each other. It was beautiful to watch.

I loved how Saint always had Lennons back, he was the silent, confident partner she needed and let her fight her own battles but was more than happy to step in when needed.

I loved that Lennon became Saints safe space, his home life is complete chaos and not a safe environment but for the first time in his life he finally has someone showing him affection and love, everything he deserves. There was one scene in particular that really showed them how they care for each other and it was just beautiful.

Now I can’t not mention the spice! This might be the spiciest book I’ve read from Maren and I loved every minute of it! I mean Saint had a pierced 🍆! 🥵 that alone is so hot but the way he was with Lennon, as she was very inexperienced but he showed her just amazing being bad is!

I seriously can recommend this enough! If you love hockey romance, good girl x bad boy vibes, forced proximity and the spiciest spice then you need to read this one!!

****ARC****

Thanks to Valentines PR for selecting me for this ARC. And a HUGE!!! thank you to the wonderful author for writing this amazing book. THANK YOU!!! ❤❤❤

Saint and Lennon.

I loved this entire book. It was just perfect. The way this book initially started with Saint getting neat her for revenge and Lennon wanting to piss off her parents and then seeing how they started growing feelings for each other. How he was her first thought after a bad situation to go to for comfort and how she couldn't stop resisting him. I loved how they became each others comfort and home. If you love the type of book where there's an MMC who thinks he doesn't deserve love and an FMC where she is basically a spoilt princess who gets everything she wants and with parents who want her to do what they want and when they want but will NEVER EVER give up on the MMC, no matter how much he says she deserves better, this is for you. Because she didn't leave and that's one of the things he feared most, people leaving. They just fell inlove with each other so beautifully and man the chemistry and the spice was TOP TIER, not the important part for me BUT it was there and it wasn't disappointing ONE. BIT.

Overall I give this book a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5. I lived every aspect of this book. They both deserved so much better than the parents they had, they were horrible, except for Saint's mom, she wasn't the best of the best BUT she wasn't so terrible. But Saint had Tommy who was just THE. BEST. and Lennon had Maisie who always showed up snd supported her. It was incredible to see how after everything Saint and Lennon's relationship blossomed. And that takedown? Lennon was a badass for what she did and it showed who she chose and thay was Saint and I was happy for that. The book had a great plot and it came together so very well. Saint was indeed the bad boy with his tattoos and his bike and working as a mechanic but he was really smart too. And Lennon was definitely the good girl who was a spoilt princess and wanted to come our of her shell and wanted to break free from her parents prison. He was the unexpected prince who saved the princess in the tower. They accelerated each other and pushed and supported each other and they especially loved each other.

I can't wait for the rest of the series.

P.S. Can we talk about Saint's last name being Deveraux and he calls Lennon Golden Girl? I mean if you're a HUGE fan of The Golden Girls like I am  then you would love the comparison the way I did. Thanks Maren, you made my day and time reading this book.

Lennon and Saint both book private ice time to practice hockey/skating, but there is a mix up with the schedule and they are stuck practicing together or not at all. Lennon just wants to live her own life out from under her parents thumb, and fake dating Saint seems like the best possible way to do that. He agrees easier than she expects, because he has a plan of his own, using her for revenge. What neither of them expect is to fall for each other along the way. But will their differences and secrets break their bond?
