I was so excited to go back to Orleans U again in this book, but this time we’ve got hockey boys instead of baseball boys! It was such a great way to return to OU and I enjoyed this book so much.
Lennon Rousseau was so sweet, but she also had some sass when she needed it…which was usually when she was around Saint. One thing I loved about this story was how Lennon was taking back her life after being under her parent’s control for her whole life. It was hard for her at times, because obeying her parents and not upsetting them was so ingrained in her, but I love that she continued to work toward living her own life even when it was hard. One of the ways she attempted to separate herself from her parents was with help from Saint, even though that pained her at first, too! He was the resident bad boy, and she knew that if she was “dating” him, her parents would freak out and it could help them see that she could live her own life.
Saint Devereaux was the epitome of a bad boy, and he loved riling Lennon up any chance he got. He wasn’t used to someone sassing him, so when Lennon fought back during their time together, he was immediately intrigued, especially since he thought she was nothing more than a vapid rich girl. Saint had a hard life and a lot of trauma, but watching him learn more about himself because of that and through his relationship with Lennon was great to watch. Saint showed an incredible amount of growth in this story, and I loved watching him become the man he tried so hard to be. He also had a deliciously filthy mouth that Lennon tried to deny loving, but we all know she really, really loved it! It was great to watch Saint bring Lennon more out of her shell during this story, but he always wanted her to find her way to being herself on her own, too.
It was so much fun watching Lennon and Saint banter, but it was even more fun watching them get to know each other on a deeper level, and see parts of each other that no one else had ever seen. They both grew so much as people during this story and showed a lot of maturity. There was a moment towards the end when they fought, but it was great to see them talk it out and be mature about it; they both were able to see that fighting is a normal part of a relationship and they just had to learn how to work through that together, and they did! I had such a great time being back at Orleans U and I can’t wait to see what happens next with the OU Hellcats!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Bad Boy Rule by Maren Moore
Okay… I’m officially obsessed. This was my first read by Maren Moore and it absolutely will not be my last—I’m adding everything of hers to my TBR.
The Bad Boy Rule passed my expectations: the perfect blend of tropes, a plot that kept me locked in, and just the right amount of spice to make it hot & addictive. Lennon and Saint’s dynamic was literal perfection. Their chemistry sizzled from the very first page, and I was hooked on every tension-filled, flirty, emotionally charged moment between them.
Trope lovers, buckle up—this one has it all:
⛸️ Figure skater x hockey player
🔥 Enemies to lovers
🏠 Forced proximity
😏 Secret hook-ups
⚡ Opposites attract
And somehow, Maren Moore makes each one hit so hard. I was highlighting quotes like a madwoman—so many faves I honestly couldn’t fit them all into one post.
Hockey romance usually isn’t my go-to, but this book? This one will live in my head rent-free for a long time. It’s got heart, heat, and that addictive can’t-put-it-down energy that keeps you reading until 2 a.m.
Huge thanks to @valentinePR AND Maren for the ARC—I’m so glad I got to read this early. Now excuse me while I go binge-read everything Maren Moore has ever written. ❤️🔥
Thank you to Valentine PR & Maren Moore for sending me an advanced copy of The Bad Boy Rule.
I am a HUGE Maren Moore fangirl and was absolutely obsessed with the Orleans University series, so I’ve been anxiously waiting for this book and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The Hellcat Hockey series kicks off with The Bad Boy Rule, and we’re thrown right back into the world of OU, this time with the school’s hockey team and the fiery pairing of Saint and Lennon.
Saint is your classic bad boy… but with a twist. He’s from the wrong side of the tracks, but he doesn’t drink, doesn’t party, and is laser focused on working hard in both school and life. He’s the one holding his family together and is determined not to end up like his abusive, alcoholic father. Then there’s Lennon, our rich girl with hidden side. Her parents care more about appearances than her actual dreams, and as their only child, she’s feeling major pressure to be the perfect daughter… even if it means hiding her true self.
When Lennon and Saint meet, it’s all sparks and fire. They cannot stand each other… at first. But then Saint finds out who Lennon’s dad is, the very man he blames for how his life turned out, and decides to get revenge by making Lennon fall for him. What he doesn’t expect? Lennon wants her dad to think they’re dating too. So begins the fake dating, the delicious tension, and all the swoony moments as they slowly realize they aren’t who they thought the other was… they might actually be perfect for each other. But can they make it work, or are they just too different?
You guys… I LOVED this. I think this might be Maren’s most intense book yet, but it still has that fun, college sports romance feel I adore. The angst?? Chef’s kiss. The chemistry?? Off the charts. And Lennon’s “rules” with Saint?? Let’s just say they don’t last very long.
If you’re in the mood for a sports romance with heat, heart, and the perfect balance between light and dark, The Bad Boy Rule is it. I’m already obsessed with this series and can’t wait for more Hellcat boys!
Okay! The way I devoured this! The Bad Boy Rule was soo addicting from the start. I absolutely loved Saint and Lennon, their banter was EVERYTHING. I was kicking and screaming every time they even spoke to each other. Saint might be one of my favorite MMC’s from Maren. I am just a sucker for the bad boy 😉
He is broody, and he can do nothing wrong in my eyes. Plus, He has a filthy mouth! Lennon was this perfect little daddy’s girl that followed the rules but now she is over that. She wanted to do better and follow her own steps in life. So here comes Saint changing everything for her.
I love how we are back at OU but now we’re with the hockey players. I am so excited about this series, and I can’t wait to see what Maren has in store for us. This was such a great start and I am so here for Maren being back in her Hockey Era

GAH! I really loved this one! Maren Moore gave us one heck of a romance story here.
The banter between the MC's was so yummy. I laughed and squealed.
Saint is a college hockey player. He is broken, damaged, wounded and has a YUMMY dirty mouth.
Lennon is a figure skating good girl. She does everything she can to be "perfect"
Saint and Lennon fake dating helps Lennon break away from always being perfect. She is dating Saint on purpose to prove a point to her father but it quickly develops into so much more.
The spice and storyline blend well. Not too much or too little spice. Just right.
I highly recommend this book!

Ahhhh I really loved Saint and Lennon. These two were all sorta of perfect for each other, but far from perfect as humans.
This book read differently from Maren’s other books but I still just loved it so much, the characters, the spice, the character growth, was all written so well and it was so hard for me to put down!
Although this was a hockey romance, it focused more on their relationship and growth as people than it did hockey.
