Trilogy Ending
I am so thankful I was able to find this series as this was so good! This last book was packed filled with twist and turns in the plot with a side of spice of course! Ophelia and her fated mates could not catch a break it seemed like the whole dang book! I swore multiple times I would stop reading if someone else died. I couldn’t handle losing our fated mates. Oh I’m sorry Ophelia’s fated mates. Thankfully I pushed through to the end to be saddened all over again to know their story is over.

There was so much going on in this final book! All the secrets come out and which leads to a pretty epic showdown. I really enjoyed the battle at the end; there was some twists I didn't see coming and genuine stakes and thanks to the full cast audio it felt really immersive. There are some real emotional moments as characters face up to the consequences of their actions and all the narrators get a chance to step up. Its pretty gloomy for a while but there are some fun moments which usually contain Ani and Elpis. I love a snarky dragon.
Elpis is my new favourite character although Lucien is up there too. I'd love more of him as he definitely has a story to tell (I was also low key hoping for him to a be a late edition). I did find this one very Alexandros-centric again and I missed Axl and Malachi who weren't as prevalent individually in this one either. I didn't feel the connection between the guys as much as I had done in previous books which had been a real highlight however Xavier has his own arc (talk about a payoff to a slow burn!) and I was thrilled for him. The pacing was a little slow in the middle while all the pieces fall into place but the audio is so engaging; at this point I'd listen to June DeBorahae read the phone book as I just love her narration.
My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

A satisfying ending to the trilogy!
There did seem to be less smut in this final book but there was so much going on within the story, it made sense that spicy scenes would take a backseat.
I knew that Ophelia wouldn’t make it through the final big battle without losses but man was I crying during that whole scene.
I liked that we questioned everyone’s motives and intentions right along with Ophelia and her men.

I usually hate the whole “chosen one loses their powers at the end” trope but I thought it made sense in Ophelia’s case.
Ever since the first book, Ophelia has only ever wanted to be safe and cared for with her men. She didn’t want powers, and even when she discovered the truth about her and her destiny, she didn’t want any part of it. She really only did any of it because she was the only person who could.
She viewed her powers more as a burden rather than something she loved about herself, so it made sense for her not to have them at the end.
