The first third of the book was promising but as I continued on I realised I didn't care for the characters or what happened. Plus Marcus waited until more than half the book to tell April that he was BAWN which irritated me.

Ms. Dade! Girl! Spoiler Alert made me feel seen in a way rare to many romance novels. This book was sweet and spicy. And, it really tackled body image issues and the stigma of having dyslexia. It was wonderful 5/5 ⭐️

This seems tailor-made for me, but I was not invested.

A thoroughly enjoyable read!! The characters really made this one, every single one was three dimensional and written in a way you couldn’t help but support. This book managed to be relatable in so many ways, I couldn’t help but sympathise with characters I got it . I wish I could have given this a 4 Stars because, while I did find it wholly enjoyable, I felt as though it lacked a little bit of charm. I’m not entirely sure where it went wrong (well not wrong but missed the mark a tad) but it was noticeably there.

One thing that I would like to mention and congratulate the author on is the way she incorporated social media and fandom culture into this book. I know how easy it is to get wrong, how cringe it is when it’s done wrong. But I really have to give it to her, I thought the representation felt true and it kept me engaged. Not once did I have to look away in embarrassment.

Overall, a really fun book.

Side note: all of those excerpts from Marcus’ scripts were bloody hilarious and I was so happy to see their inclusion!!

I enjoyed this book MUCH more than other “published fanfic” style pieces. The core “show” being something Greco-Roman mythology related was entertaining as hell, the positive messaging laced with delicate handling of body/brain shaming conflicts was communicated well, and I legit cackled at the reveal at the end of who was sharing the scripts.
