The sixth installment of The Treasure of Paragon series, Highland Dragon is the book we’ve been waiting for. Avery, Raven’s older sister who stood by her sister’s side during sickness and health, is tasked with finding the elusive brother of the other dragons, Xander. From the beginning, with Raven’s book and the previous novels, we get little glimpses into who Avery is. She is more than a sister, daughter, caregiver, and barkeep.Highland Dragon is where Avery goes from a secondary character to a badass willing to fight for herself, her family, and her friends. This isn’t just another installment of a paranormal book, this is an example of the struggle women have in not saying yes to everything and standing up for themselves. Honestly, the character growth was amazing and I didn’t think I could love anyone as much as I loved Alexander but I was wrong.
I think because both Avery and Xander are fleshed out by Genevive Jack it feels like it’s more than a story about dragons. Sure they’re cool but it’s a story in which a woman finds the depths of herself and what she is willing to do for her family and friends. This story is beautifully told. Each story builds on the one preceding it but the effort that was taken by Genevive to build the world went above and beyond other authors. I cannot wait for the next book!

Another amazing tale

This series is blowing my mind! I love how the stories are both an individual tale of the main characters and a continuation of all that has come before. Many authors seem to get overwhelmed by the addition of new characters as the books grow in number and start leaving people out of the story... not so in these books! The story picks right up where it left off, everyone is involved, and it flows so beautifully that you simply cannot put it down! It’s fantastic world-building meets amazing writing skills! I’m going to devour everything she writes once I finish these books.

Another great story in the series, this time with Maiara and Alexander's story. She is a mysterious woman, Alexander has lost someone. I just absolutely love this series, every character, every story, Genevieve Jack has taken my love for Dragon shifters to a new level. A must read, I suggest you read them all!

The fourth book in the Treasure of Paragon series features Alexander and Maiara and their tragic fate. When the dragons were sent from Paragon, they eventually made their way to the New World in the 17th century. Maiara was their guide through the wilderness, a woman of unusual talents. She became Alexander's mate, but tragically died. Now, in present day Sedona, Alexander's pain is eating him alive and his only reminder of his love is a charmed hawk, who seems to have acquired the one thing Maiara did not: immortality. But when Alexander's siblings converge on his world to reveal the truth about Paragon, his life is immeasurably altered.
I admit, I almost gave up on this story. The first half is a bit plodding and slow, and I had to believe it would get better. Boy howdy, did it! When the plot finally picks up, it picks up fast and the remaining story flew by in no time! Now, I'll be eagerly awaiting Book 5.

Glad i'm sticking with this series. Each book still quite entertaining. What i really like is that altho each book focuses on a different sibling, the siblings from prior books still play MC roles and even have chapters in their own voice. Often in series' like this you lose track of prior MCs as the series progresses. I really love that this series carries all the MCs thru each book
