This was an awesome and incredible read.

I loved the beginning story of Evie and Landon and how my heart just broke when they realized how much they cared about each other and how no one could find out about them as Landon would be sent away. His past was heart breaking enough and he finally managed to find peace with Evie's family.

I wanted to smack Evie upside the head so many times for keeping secrets and not letting Landon know everything that happened after he left when they begin to talk again as adults. I knew things were not going to end well but I had no idea how it was going to come out. And wow did it ever!!

I was kind of freaking at the end as the author never promised a HEA. This book kept you on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster as I knew their love was strong as kids but never knew how strong it would actually be ten years later.

Such a great read!!

I love this authors writing style and have really enjoyed the last 2 books I have read in this series. This book is a forbidden love story x 2 and a second chance love story which is my favorite. I also really like that this author adds a little suspense into her books (sometimes alot). The secret in this one was pretty obvious but I was still intrigued to see how it would all play out.

I really liked the beginning of Fractured Love. Evie and Landon were both characters I adored and I loved seeing them slowly fall in love. The tension of waiting for them to be found out also added to the story. My main issue with the book was pace. It started out slowly, then everything progressed really quickly, and then it slowed down again, only to progress quickly towards the end right when I wanted everything to be dragged out more. I thought the author could have dragged their reunion and reconnection out more, slowly building it so that the last 25% didn't just feel like a quick wrap up. Basically, the book needed to be longer. Also, having it split between when they first meet and present day (9 or 10 years later) was nice – I really loved having the beginning of their relationship – but it felt like there was too much to cover in one book. Also, I expected the "adult" half of the book to be steamier than it ended up being, which was a little disappointing. And there were definitely complications/twists thrown in that I didn't think were necessary and clogged up the story line. But it was a nice quick read and I 100% ship Evie and Landon.

This story is so simple and yet so brilliant that I don't know why I didn't think of it and write it myself. Oh wait, that's right, I'm not a writer and Ella James is a kickass author who writes amazing tales.

It's faultless. How can the reader not fall in love with Landon Jones? I can't answer that question because the intelligent, witty, thoughtful boy grabbed my heart when he was just 17 and he kept it. Probably always will.

And as for Evie Rutherford, we all need an Evie in our lives. She is the sweetest girl. She sees the wounded Landon and takes him under her wing. She will wait until he is ready but she makes it abundantly clear that she won't give up. Their love was inevitable. It had to be. Like Lassie must come home and dippy eggs must be put in an egg cup and be eaten with soldiers.

There is sorrow. Oh my word there is sorrow but not the sort that had me hiccuping and spluttering with big tears. No, just the sad, hollow bellied sorrow when you're not sure how the world will be right again.

Well played Ella James. I loved it, even if you did shock the living daylights out of me.

5 Emotional Stars

This is my first time reading a book by Ella James and I feel like kicking myself for it. This book was emotional and sexy and I couldn't put it down once I started reading it.

I think what I loved about this story the most is how it was full of angst and sadness without feeling overwhelming or unrealistic. My heart broke for Landon and Evie and everything they went through, but I love that they got their second chance at happiness and how it happened so seamlessly.

I'll definitely be picking up more from this author ASAP!!

Evie's parents agreed to foster a 7 year old boy only to find out that Landon is not 7. There was a mix up in his paperwork and he is 17. Her parents agree to keep him because they think he will be a good fit. Landon was extremely smart despite his rough upbringing and was capable of great things if given a chance which Evie's parents wanted to give him. Because of his rough upbringing he has a hard time sleeping which brings out the nurturer in Evie. She wants to help and save Landon. Not only does she save him but they both find their other half in each other. Their young love is so sweet and heart warming but Evie's parents don't see it the same way and Landon is forced to leave.

I love me some taboo/forbidden foster brother stories and this one is soo good. This story is in two parts. The young love as teenagers and them finding each other again as adults. I really enjoyed their story. It has one of my favorite tropes but has a different take on it that I thoroughly enjoyed. Landon was sad broken boy who was able to overcome the worst circumstances so that he could find his way back to Evie - his light in his dark world. I highly recommend this story.

A beautiful story about losing and finding love. Please see my full review at: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2066055602

4 "Loving Landon is like breathing," stars.

Sigh.

I feel like Ella James really enjoys making people cry. Yes Evie and Landon's story is so super duper sweet. It's young taboo love, and you want to root for them even though it may be a little bit wrong. It's young love that you pray is lasting. Ugh. I feel like I can't really say much more or it will ruin this story. The basics are that Evie falls for her foster brother. Should she be doing this? Probably not, but you sometimes can't help who you love.

This story is sweet, angsty, hot, and passionate. There are bits where I was crying. There are bits where I was laughing. There are bits when I was so angry at some of the characters! Agh. This is just a good read. It starts light and gets a bit heavier... if you're looking for a mix of new adult and contemporary then this is an excellent read for you!

6 STARS!

3 so sad stars.... This wasn't my favorite. It was so sad and I felt like the ending was a bit rushed. The other 3 books in the series were FANTASTIC, so maybe it was a case of me and not the book. I would still recommend reading the series. Like everything else by Ella James you don't want to miss it.
