Very unexpected and delightful book. I loved the way the stories weaved with each other and I thought the mystery was good. I kind of expected it to be darker somehow? And while the cartoonish plot lines and deaths are clearly intentional and part of the book's style (very Pushing Daisies), it occasionally threw me off the emotional intensity of the more serious plotlines (opioid crisis, dying family member, degenerative brain disease, family and the challenges of growing up). Which might be a taste thing or it might be a case of occasionally biting off more than the style can chew. Thoroughly readable though.
