i screamed, laughed, and CRIED so much reading this book- in the absolute best ways. i feel so complete after finishing Ari and Danny’s second book… i’ll try not to put much to spoil anything for those who haven’t read it yet, or who haven’t finished See You Soon (Book 1). but i will say, the plot twist near the end, and then the one at the very end? omgggggg. and as i stated during one of my reading updates- in book two, danny is still VERY much with the sh*ts, when it comes to protecting and providing for Ari.
various parts of this story shattered me, and my heart BROKE for both of them. but there was so much that made their story whole and unique. there are a few sensitive topics that are touched on, but it makes their love and story even more passionate. and let me also add- Ari might be the strongest FMC i’ve ever read about. the things she went through, most people don’t go through in a lifetime. she really was the angel that Danny needed.
if you haven’t finished reading See You Soon- HURRY UP! I Promise You releases Nov. 20th- and trust me, y’all know i will not lead you astray, this book does not disappoint. Lexie did her thing, again… and now- i desperately need the next book

Never has a book made me cry from the first 2 pages…but that is exactly what this one did!

Danny has my whole damn heart after this one! And I thought I was obsessed with him in the first book.... I absolutely adore this man. This one was so gut-wrenching and heartbreaking. I loved seeing Danny's transformation in this one. He really shined throughout this whole story. I love that he was still this broody man with his depraved kinks but also became such a pillar of strength for Ari and literally swooned over her every chance he got. The amount of trauma those 2 people went through was insane though... The only thing I did not like was the love triangle, but that's obviously a personal preference. I just didn't see what purpose it served other than just making Ari's character more unstable and confusing. But overall, I thought the plot was great, the action was steady, and those spicy scenes were out of this world! I absolutely loved the ending, and that plot twist at the end was perfect!

I really don't even have the words! This book got me all in my feels. You know a book is written well when you feel like a piece of you breaks when the characters go through something. This is the 2nd book in the Scarred Executioners series and let me tell you, Lexie did not disappoint. She leaves you hanging in book 1, but it was totally worth the wait. I'm not going to lie, I cried and got angry many times throughout this book. Danny and Ari hold a very special place in my heart and getting to see their story play out with all the twists and turns had my stomach in knots. I really enjoyed the 3-person POV of this story because it definitely added more dimension to the story and really tugs the heartstrings. I love all the supporting characters and I can't wait for what's to come. I was granted early access to this book to leave an honest review. I can't wait to see what else Lexie has in store for the Scarred Executioners series and I'm not going to lie, seeing whose story is coming next is really got me excited.
