I harbor a few secret shames, and among those is a passing curiosity about celebrity gossip. Thus, anyone with an eye toward entertainment news could not avoid the kerfuffle around Harry and Meghan as their story hit the news a few years back. I tend to imagine the people behind the headlines rather than becoming emotionally riled over what journalists are telling us to think, feel, or believe. As such, this book seemed like a more humane approach to the story of H&M. It painted them as genuine people who fell in love and were forced onto a world stage by happenstance of his birth and her career. The public at large was free to throw as much garbage as possible at these people they'd never met while H&M attempted to rise above, put on a stiff upper lip, and actually be voices for good rather than running and hiding as I think most people would do if our lives had open season declared upon us.
At the end of the day, I don't know these people, but neither do you. We can villify them if we're petty enough, or we can shrug and wish them the best if we have an ounce of compassion and are willing to attribute positive intent. I know which I choose.

DNF'D at about 100 pages.
I kept waiting for this book to get interesting, but it just felt repetitive and bogged down. It felt like it took forever just to get to the point where their relationship went public and even then I couldn't muster up enough interest to continue. I mean I'm interested in their story, just the way this was written made it a bit slow for me.
I'll probably try to pick it up again eventually, but it's a DNF for now

This was an interesting read, and it seemed to put current events in context.
If you have any interest in royals or the British, you should enjoy this. Written by two journalists who followed Harry and Meghan around from the inception of their courtship through the present, this is an excellent unauthorized look at what life was like on the inside of the castle walls. And what most likely led the young couple to retreat from the UK and to the less invasive side of the Atlantic. I learned a few new things about Harry and Meghan, even though I already am an avid royal watcher and reader!

Finding Fuckery is more like it. This book is a love fest of perfect Meghan. It contradicts itself over and over again. Sometimes the contradictions are chapters apart, sometimes mere sentences apart. It contradicts what Harry & Meghan said in the Oprah interview. Really Finding Fuckery is a much more accurate title. I gave it 2 stars because it was written horribly.
I really enjoyed this book. I read Spare before this and it was interesting to see some of Harry’s stories corroborated by the reporting in this book. I listened to Omid Scobie’s narration and I’m looking forward to listening to his narration of Endgame when it becomes available at the library.
Nice, balanced view of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. It is easily understandable why they believed they had no choice but to leave. All anyone has to do is look at the British tabloids today. They have unceasingly continued to publish negative stories about the duchess. A person can only take so much trashing, no matter who they are.
