Oh so freaking good

God I cried one too many times reading this book. But it is beautifully done. I love the depths of the characters, the plot and journey.

Restless Spirit introduces you to Everly/Sara. At first, she is just a lonely ghost that no one can see. She doesn't really know how long she has been ghost or what exactly happened before she died but she knows that she's pretty freaking lonely. So she doesn't think someone will see her when she decides to go to a club one night. Luckily for her, Jack doesn't just see her.. he can feel her as well.

From this night on, her life is forever changed. Jack and the guys somehow get Everly to realize that she is actually their Sara from long ago. She doesn't quite believe them because honestly - it's a lot to take in. That she died. That she used to be a hell hound. Oh, and that she has her very own harem. The only thing is.. she has even more secrets to uncover.

Right from the start, I was completely sucked into this story. The characters were giving me life with all their bantering and sarcasm. Plus the mystery behind how she died and who did it was constantly on my mind. I don't even think we got enough clues to figure it out but it's obviously someone she knows. I just don't know how she does or for how long she has.

Mostly because she's died like twice. Once before becoming a hell hound for Lucifer and after she was a hell hound. Right now I'm thinking it's probably a fellow hound who doesn't like that they aren't in her harem?!? But I'm also thinking it could be someone who doesn't like Lucifer. I have so many potential people for suspects that I can't even narrow it down right now.

Especially after that cliffhanger. I need to know who was at the door. I also want to know if the pizza was ever delivered.. or maybe I'm just hungry lol.

This is a dark RH Romance that borders on insane - and makes you love the journey....

Everly is dead and desperate to feel. No one can see her, hear her or touch her - until one Halloween night at the Black Abby Club. There she meets Jack, a dangerous ma with secrets in his eyes and magic in his touch. He can see her, hear her and touch her - everywhere. Soon, Everly learns that not everything is as it seems, even herself. Taking his hand, she ventures into her own wonderland and discovers a past that holds a different name, lovers that touch her soul and a mission that, quite literally, killed her.

Overall, this is an epic ride that edges the border between sublime and taboo. Everly, real name Sara, is everything a lost Heroine should be, while her men each have strong personalities of their own (a facet of RH that far too many Authors neglect). The tried and true method of introduction - no one can see her, she's a ghost, blah blah blah, turned me off at first - as it follows a growing pattern in the RH genre. Yet that pattern soon veers and Sara comes into her own. These men, her Hell Hounds, ARE there to help her, but they have desires and needs of their own too. They truly stand apart, even if it ultimately comes down to the pack, and the Devil, in the end.

A wonderful introduction to a seductive new series.

Diggin these hell hounds

UPDATE #3: third go round, and it just gets better EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. This will forever be one of my favorite series, and I’m so glad I purchased signed copies for my home library.

UPDATE: I’m updating my review since I’m reading the series again in preparation for the final trilogy of the series.

Man oh man, my love for these books hasn’t changed one bit. I can say that my comfort zone in what I like to read has been blown out of the water in the last 6 months though lol This series is made up of three trilogies. The first trilogy is about Sara and her pack, the second trilogy is about a different pack, and the third trilogy that’s about to be released is about Lucifer. They need to be read in order. Sara is probably my favorite character out of both trilogies so far. She’s so dang fierce, yet loving and tender. I LOVE her hounds. The author has done an amazing job at character development. You can feel the love between these hounds and their desperation to have Sara back and in one piece. And they each have such a distinct personality, there’s absolutely no confusing them. This book begins the trilogy about a woman who has been a ghost for 5 years, she can’t remember who she is or how she died. This is her story of finding herself and her hell hounds. AND ITS AMAZING. And gah dang let me just say that girl can write a sex scene, holy crap!!! It’s neat to see the little details you might have missed your first time reading a book. SO glad I picked this one up again.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

I feel like as a Christian there’s a fine line to tread when reading a book about the devil lol and I can say that the author wrote this book tastefully. When I first started reading and seen that the main character WANTED to go see the devil and be his hellhound I was a little weary but I like reading books out of my comfort zone so I kept reading and THIS IS SO GOOD! So well written, you can feel the emotions between Sara and the hounds. This is book one of a series and no, they can not be read as standalones, it does end in a cliffhanger. And this girls favorite songs... I swear she must have access to my playlists lol seriously diggin these rockin, leather pants wearing, alpha and fierce characters. Anxious to find out who killed Sara five years ago!! So off to the next book I go!

Fantastic book, just what I needed

I've been in a book slump for a while now. Nothing was keeping my interest. When I was recommended this book I gave it a try. It quickly grabbed my attention and didn't let go. I found myself reading at every available free moment I had. Moving on to book two! HOUNDS!
