My favorite part of this book was when it ended.

1000 pages of watching diem continuously make dumb choices is too much for me

As someone that loved the first two books (both 5 stars despite Diem being stupid) this was disappointing. Nearly every plot twist was so obvious that I was sitting here being like okay so when are we going to get to the point chapters before hand. Cough cough what was up with Luther in chapter 27 for example. Also my problem with the first book still stands so many plot hooks are being opened and just not addressed in 3 books?????? On the other hand we have a lot of plot conflict being fixed in a couple of chapters like this book takes chosen one to a whole new level. I had to actually take a break from this book around the mid way point because i was bored and it was just so long. I will say those last 100 pages really ramped things up again which means I probably will continue as I did enjoy them and I do like most of the characters (Side note Luther’s personality changes like every book to work around whatever Deim is doing). On the other hand I really liked the depth of seeing the world building for this book expand through the new places. Overall I’m hooked and going to keep going but my expectations aren’t as high.
