Dark dystopian view of the end of humanity by a deadly flu like virus (relevant).
Well written and enjoyed the characters as they developed.
A must read for anyone interested in this genre

My first Chuck Wendig read after being a long-time lover of Stephen King. I really enjoyed this book. People who compare it to The Stand are correct in that it has a mysterious virus and that Chuck, much like Stephen, has a LOT to say. I feel like this book could have been trimmed and thinned a little BUT I liked it. I was driven by the mystery of the sleepwalkers and really enjoyed the rich characters Chuck created.

No rating. I read this for a challenge, and it's not really my genre. And soooo long! But I ordered a used copy for DH to read - it's right up his alley.

This book is all of my nightmares rolled into one. Ecological disaster, pandemic, the total collapse of society and the rise of white supremacist militias. Too real for 2020.

Was going to be a 4.5 rounded up to a 5, but I'm just not sure how I feel about how it ended... after 800 pages... :\
