DNF about 65% of the way through. As another reviewer stated, it seemed most of the beginning plot was wrapped up by then, and I couldn't force myself to slog through the mediocre writing to find more. I thought the dialogue was really stiff, and a lot of the responses didn't seem to fit with the line before them. It felt like the author was just trying to get to a point and didn't care if it was how a normal conversation would flow. The whole Matthew thing was really confusing and seemed frivolous when it ended--as did the whole assault trauma. The characters were a little one-dimensional, and it seemed every character besides Chloe and Jason were just vehicles to move the story along instead of adding to the plot. The mom? Okay... Lori? Where was she? The book was free, and I realize it's supposed to be fluff, but even marshmallows hold their shape!

This book had potential with a fun premise: every-day college girl dates Hollywood superstar. Throw in some suspense about her back story (foreshadowed well) and the ideas were great. However, there was a bit too much happening in the story at times, especially in the time period. Having said that, the characters were good, Jason and Chloe were decent leads, and Jason's family were really lovely characters. Kyra was a good addition too and it would be interesting to read her spin-off story. I also liked that Chloe valued education and was a smart cookie. A pleasant read if a bit long.
I don't think the protagonist could have been more filled with angst if she tried. Good lord! Was anything good?? She just meandered through life pretty much being miserable. Why did Jason love her? There was no substance to their relationship at all. The whole story was just mundane and boring.
I really loved and enjoyed reading Someone Else's Fairytale. This book was a much needed change from my regular paranormal and YA reads I have been reading here lately. It was relaxing and down to earth with real life events. E. M. Tippetts did an amazing job on this one. I would recommend this to any one who wants a book they can just lay out in the yard on a nice summer day with a cool breeze going and just fall into a story. Someone Else's Fairytale is one of them books you must buy and have on your bookself.
When movie star, Jason Vanderholt, comes to UNM (University of New Mexico), he's immediately drawn to Chloe Winters. Chloe has been talked into being an extra on his shoot by her best friend, Lori. Chloe hasn't seen many of Jason's movies nor does she see why girl's are falling all over him.
Jason tries to charm Chloe with his "movie star" tricks, however, Chloe's not that kind of girl. All she wants is to be normal. Seeing that Chloe isn't into his fame and fortune is a complete turn around for Jason and it makes him fall even harder for her. But Chloe is not looking for a relationship right now, so she makes it clear to him she just wants to be friends.
After months of talking on the phone, skyping, and friendly outings, they both have fallen for each other, even if Chloe doesn't want to admit it.
When family and life drama comes into play in both of their lives, they make sure they are there to support one another.
They soon admit their feelings for each other. But can Chloe handle all the attention from dating Hollywood's hottest movie star? Or is this someone else's fairytale?

I am at a loss for words for how beautiful I found this book to be by the time I was finished reading. At first I had a few issues with some characters, such as Matthew and his judgmental ways. I even took offense to Chloe calling Jason "just some random guy" after he had been bending over backwards for a while to be good to her. But it all worked, it all got sorted out and I was moved by how the characters evolved and their relationship grew and matured.
I wish I could give it six stars.

Jason Vanderholt is Hollywood’s hottest actor and could have any woman he wants—any woman except Chloe Winters. A twenty-one-year-old focused on her studies, Chloe couldn’t care less about Jason’s good looks or his wealth. Every attempt he makes to get to know her falls flat when he tries to use his Hollywood charm.
When Chloe forces him to be himself—just a regular guy—the pair become good friends. Although Jason wants more, he accepts Chloe’s friendship for a time. He eventually makes his feelings known … and gets rejected. But Chloe, with help from her somewhat estranged mother, realizes her true feelings, and a relationship finally blossoms.
Someone Else’s Fairytale is a sweet story with some heavy sub-plots. I enjoyed the intricacies of the various plots, but sometimes felt there wasn’t enough focus on the main characters’ relationship, leaving me not one hundred percent convinced of their love for each other.
Chloe is a somewhat confused character. She’s not confused about her stance on premarital sex; she sticks to her guns that she’s not interested in it, even when faced with a boyfriend who is older and very experienced, thanks to her own childhood. But when it comes to love and even friendship, she doesn’t have a clue. It’s made clear to the reader that her best friend Matthew is interested in her, yet she doesn’t see it for quite some time. Nor does she see Jason’s interest in her. To add to her confusion, she suddenly decides she’s in love with Matthew out of the blue. Then she pushes Jason away, only to realize she loves him after she watches his movies—which seems even odder coming from a woman who had no interest in his celebrity status and even poked fun at his fake tan.
The story is written in a different style than I’m used to, and it took some time to get into the constant back and forth dialogue. There were many times where it was difficult to determine who said what and I’d have to backtrack to figure it out.
All that said, I read through the story pretty quickly because I didn’t want to put it down. I enjoyed the various plots, especially Chloe’s relationships with her mother and Jason’s niece. I just wish her character had been more definitive about what she wanted in a romantic relationship instead of constantly focusing on what she didn’t want. In the end, I was happy to see both Chloe and Jason’s fairytales come to life.

A nicely written story. Boys meets girl, boy falls for girl, girl falls back... eventually. The only problem is that they can't get to know each other the ordinary way because they're always in the public eye which isn't something Chloe is comfortable with. The glamourous lifestyle isn't quite what it seems but their feelings turn out to be stronger than all of that.
I felt like the end of the story was a little rushed and forced which is a shame since I know there's a second book following on. I'd still like to read this to know what happens next.

Awww wonderful love story. Thank you for making a leading lady who waits until shes married. Our daughters need more of these types of stories to learn they are worth waiting for.
