Ok before I say anything else, I need to go on an angry rant about my least favorite part of this novel,
the fucking Reversal Stone arc. It’s just so stupid of a concept and I hate it. Wtf do you mean the gods just leave magic rocks lying around in hopes that they’ll eventually find the correct person and send them on a temporary quest through time????? It also makes Gu Mang’s pouch a plot hole or at the very least a reality-breaking object cuz where did that thing come from if Gu Mang got it from future Mo Xi when Mo Xi himself got it from Gu Mang??? And what is with the whole stupid mind games the god if the reversal stone plays on Mo Xi??? Like the guy goes “ooooo Mo Xi your only options are to become emperor yourself and let everyone outside your country die or sacrifice yourself to save the world and never be reincarnated” only to go “psyche! You’re kind of a cool guy so I’m gonna bring you and Gu Mang back to life” like what????
Alright I’m cutting myself off there. Yuwu is the quintessential story I love as much as I hate, and what I hate most about it is the ending. Look, I love Mo Xi and Gu Mang a lot so I’m very happy that
they get to have a happy ending,
but the way they get to have it is so stupid I
find myself wishing this story had ended tragically with both of their deaths.
Which incidentally is my hottest take about Yuwu. Meatbun’s end note about her original vision for this story and how she had to rush it explains a lot ngl. The extra story is cute and fun and I love to see repressed teenage Mo Xi, but I’m a little sad that this is the 2nd time
Meatbun has denied the reader the opportunity to see Mo Xi disguised as a girl 😔

I’ve been reading from borrowed copies but now i have to buy yuwu to have in my own hands now 🤲🏼
